The All-Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offers a full-time postgraduate scholarship to promote technical education in the country. Those students who have given the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) are eligible to apply for the scholarships. Furthermore, students must also study in an AICTE approved college/university/institute to qualify for the scholarship.
As per the latest official notice on AICTE PG Scholarship 2021, the council is inviting applications for post graduate scholarships for the academic year 2021-22. Students can apply for the same till December 31, 2021. Eligible students will receive scholarship amount through direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode.
The notice by AICTE also reads, “The council has sent the PG scholarship portal login credentials to the institute's email ID.”
AICTE PG scholarship offers grants for students planning to pursue Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Master of Architecture, or Master of Pharmacy programs. Under the scheme, a student is provided with a grant of 12,400 rupees per month for a period of 24 months or the entire course period. The duration of the scholarships lasts for the same amount of time as the course and is not extendable. The scholarship is granted on a monthly basis, based on the academic performance and adherence to all university norms by the students.

AICTE PG Scholarship 2021: Eligibility
- A student must have passed the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
- Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s program in engineering, technology, pharmacy, or architecture in an institute that is AICTE recognised.
- The candidate must be pursuing a degree full-time to be eligible for a scholarship.
- The student should not receive financial assistance of any kind from any other source.
- Students receiving the scholarships will only be allowed to take the following leaves.
- Casual leave -15 days in an academic year
- Medical leave -maximum one month in an academic year
- Maternity leave
AICTE PG Scholarship 2021: Benefits
- The students who are eligible for the scholarship will receive a 12,400 rupees stipend every month. The grant will last for 24 months or the entire duration of the course.
- The stipend will be provided from the day of commencement of classes until the completion of courses. The scholarship is not extendable under any circumstance.
- The stipend will be granted monthly, subject to students’ academic performance and adherence to university/institute/college rules.
How to apply for AICTE PG Scholarship 2021?
Application Process
- Visit the official website of AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme and click on apply for PG scholarship.
- Read all the general instructions and keep all the documents ready.
- Select the ‘Click here to proceed to GATE/GPAT Scholarship student ID verification tab.
- Find out their permanent institute ID and the student ID required to validate themselves.
- Once the validation is complete, a screen will pop up, and a student will be required to fill in Exam details, personal details, address details, and bank details to complete the form.
- In the exam details, choose GATE/GPAT exam. Then, fill in their exam number and marks. In addition, the students must fill in their permanent address and pin code for address details.
- All bank details such as ‘Bank Name,’ ‘Bank Branch Name,’ ‘Bank IFSC Code’ and ‘Bank Account Number’ are mandatory to fill.
- Click on the ‘new ‘button to upload all the required documents.
- After completing all the steps, students will click on the ‘submit application’ button, which saves the data, after which the students must wait for the institute’s verification.
- If there is an error while submitting, the students must re-check their form and fill in all the mandatory details.
- After the documents are verified, the students will be able to get a beneficiary code, after which they can receive the scholarship.
Documents Required
- A scanned photocopy of the GATE /GPAT scorecard.
- A photocopy of the bank passbook.
- A copy of the Aadhar card. Students from the states of Assam, Meghalaya, and Jammu, and Kashmir are exempted.
- A category certificate as per marked in GATE/GPAT scorecard.
- Physically disabled certificate if required.
- A photocopy national population register (NPR) card
All the documents must be self-attested by the candidate. Only clear and readable documents will be acceptable.
AICTE PG Scholarship 2021: FAQs
Question. What are the terms and conditions for applying to AICTE scholarships?
- The students should not be receiving any financial assistance from any other source.
- International student-sponsored students and those who have taken admission under the management quota are not eligible for the scholarship.
- The students will have to take an undertaking that they would not leave the course midway.

- Joint accounts are not permitted to avail of this scholarship.
- The scholarship is not admissible to students who are appearing for the GPAT/GMAT scholarship for the 2nd time.
