The University of Newcastle offers scholarship programs to more than 7000 international students from over 120 countries each year to recognize academic achievement, help overcome financial hardship and educational disadvantages, and for specific opportunities to travel, perform, play sport, relocate, gain industry or research experience.
Newcastle is one of the most affordable University cities to study in Australia and with 25+ scholarship opportunities for international students, this can greatly reduce the cost of tuition and other study-related expenses.
The scholarship payment will be made in the form of a tuition fee waiver directly into the tuition fee account thereby reducing the tuition fee liability by the scholarship amount for each term during the term of study. The scholarships range from 5000 AUD to 15,000 AUD per year that helps students with the study cost, including accommodation and living expenses.
Apart from the academic merit, the University of Newcastle scholarships are offered on the basis of the program of study, study level, nationality, ATAR, and educational Disadvantage.
Applicants must not hold another scholarship for the same program of equivalent or more substantial benefit and must meet all of the financial obligations of a full-fee paying international student, including the full tuition fee and other expenses for the purpose of obtaining your student visa.
