    Affiliated to the Laurentian University in Sudbury, Algoma University is a public institution established with a mission to give cross-cultural learning between Aboriginal & other communities in Northern Ontario. Currently, it has over 1500 students enrolled.

    Programs offered by the Algoma University include more than 30 undergraduate majors and graduate certificates offered through three Faculties i.e Faculty of Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities. It does not offer any graduate degree programs.

    The Algoma University has affiliations with AUCC and CBIE. The campus is flourished by international students from over 30 different countries, who make up to 27% of its student body.

    Algoma University International Student Admissions

    More than 27% of international students are accepted annually to Algoma University. The application process is similar to that of domestic students. The entry requirements vary with programs and are country-specific.

    It offers undergraduate programs i.e. Bachelor's degree in many fields like Arts, Accounting, Science, Business Administration, Social Work, etc. Different programs have specific requirements.

    Visa Process for International Students

    International students who have fulfilled all the requirements and have received an official letter of acceptance from Algoma University declaring that you have secured admission are then required to apply for a student visa to study in Canada.

    A study permit is issued by the Canadian government and a student visa is issued along with it, if required, depending on your home country.

    Students are required to login to the Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) website and apply for a student visa. Submit the following documents -

    • Acceptance letter issued by Algoma University
    • Proof of Financial Support
    • Have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of 10,000 CAD
    • Valid Passport
    • Medical reports (if applicable)
    • Recent passport-size photographs
