Ans. A typical day at FMS Delhi starts with case discussions in class, where participation really matters. Between lectures, you’ll find students either in the library, preparing for upcoming evaluations, or rushing to society meetings. Evenings are usually spent working with peers: either on assignments, internship prep, or planning events. During placement season , the pace picks up significantly and becomes the main focus. In between all this, events like Fiesta and section activities give students a chance to unwind and bond. Life here stays packed, but it rarely feels directionless.Read more

Ques. Which of the following is better in terms of placements: IIM K, IIM I, ISB, FMS or XLRI?

Ans. ISB caters to working professionals with more than 2 years of experience. If you do not belong to this category, this institution is not for you.  Now coming to the other options, The HR program of XLRI is very old and renowned. Because of it, XLRI receives a slightly higher number of recruiters. This boosts its average package. Its limited batch size also benefits its placements. IIMK, FMS and XLRI receive more or less the same companies. But IIMK and XLRI attract MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) for their front end roles, which IIMI and FMS do not.  Considering all these factors, XLRI is the best choice, mainly because of its small batch size. It is followed by IIMK and FMS, and IIM Indore comes last.Read more

Ques. What is the application deadline for MBA at FMS Delhi?

Ans. As per the official website, the online registration for MBA admissions at FMS Delhi takes place from the second week of September to the second week of December. The announcement of candidates shortlisted for GD+PI is held in the first week of January. The GD and PI rounds take place around March second week, and the course finally commences in the first week of July.  These timelines can vary, but this is the usual pattern for the MBA selection cycle at FMS Delhi. Read more

Ques. Which MBA college is good for a general category student, FMS or XLRI?

Ans. The question is highly subjective. Both FMS and XLRI are the leading institutions for management studies. Any student who gets an admission offer from any or both institutions should be proud of themself. The qualifying exam for MBA at FMS New Delhi is CAT. The CAT cutoff 2022 for the FMS MBA program was 98 percentile (general category).  The qualifying exam for XLRI PGDHRM, PGDBM, and PGDM courses is XAT. The XAT 2022 cutoff was 92 percentile. There is a provision for reservation at FMS according to the rules set by the University of Delhi. However, XLRI is a private institution and therefore, has no provision for reservation.  For the HR domain, XLRI is the best business school in India. FMS is famous for its Marketing and is best known as the Marketing Campus of the country. FMS is a good choice for Finance as well. In fact, for specializations other than HR, FMS stands at a higher position.  You should also consider the location, infrastructure, and campus of the two before making your choice. Location-wise FMS is situated in New Delhi and thus might be more attractive to many. XLRI is the oldest business school in India (founded-1949), and FMS is the third oldest (founded-1954). For a PGDBM in HR, go for XLRI. The fees, however, at XLRI are much higher than at FMS.FMS fees are very affordable. In terms of ROI, FMS is in a better position. You can Check the course fee for various management courses at XLRI. Also, Check the course fee for FMS New Delhi. You can thus make your choice based on your goals. Ans. does an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad or IIM Calcutta make sense at 29 years of age? yes, it absolutely makes sense — and is actually quite common: the average work experience at IIM A/B/C is typically 2-4 years. but 7-8 years of experience (which 29-year-olds might have) is also present in every cohort older students with more work experience bring richer classroom contributions and often get higher-paying leadership roles post-MBA at 29, post-MBA careers will run for 30+ years — plenty of time to realize the ROI IIM A/B/C doesn't have an age cutoff. CAT performance + work experience + interview determines admission, not age key considerations at 29: ROI calculation: 2-year salary break + Rs.25-30L fees vs. potential Rs.40-80 LPA average packages post-MBA. math usually works out family considerations: if married/with dependents, 2-year pause is a bigger decision. plan finances career goals: if your goal is moving to consulting, PE, VC, or senior management roles faster — IIM MBA at 29 remains a powerful catalyst many successful IIM graduates joined at 29-32. age should not deter you from applying to IIMs.Read more

Ans. The Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) program is offered jointly by lIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata, and IT Kharagpur. During IIM Calcutta PGDBA placements, the average salary received by students is higher than last year despite a decline in economic growth. The 6th Batch of the PGDBA program (2020-2022) recorded the participation of 60 students out of 62. The total offers received were 64.  Here are some more highlights of IIM Calcutta Placements: The average package and median package increased by 12.75% and 14%, respectively.  The average salary received was INR 29.71 LPA while the highest package received was IN 42.50 Lacs.  Around 77.41% of the class received full-time job offers (PPO). I did not get what you want to know and compare exactly but assuming that you want to compare the MBA or the flagship program offered by IIM C and the PGPX course, as one is a college and the other is a course.  The top Indian business school IIM C offers a two-year full-time MBA program. The program is for recent graduates or those with five years of work experience. The curriculum teaches management and business practices. While PGPX is a one-year full-time program for executives with at least five years of experience. The program trains experienced managers to lead their companies. The customizable curriculum is targeted at experienced executives. In conclusion, the flagship program (MBA) of IIM C and PGPX offer management education, but their audiences, duration, and focus differ. PGPX is for experienced executives, while IIM C is for recent grads with little or no work experience.Read more
