BNCET B.Tech FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between B.Tech CSE, CSE-AI, CSE-AI and ML, and CS-Data Science at BNCET?
Ans. B.Tech CSE is the traditional programme covering core software and systems topics. CSE-AI and CSE with AI and ML include specialized electives and labs in machine learning, neural networks, and AI tools. CS with Data Science focuses on statistics, data analytics, and visualization. All four are affiliated to AKTU and lead to the same B.Tech degree class but with different specialization labels on the degree certificate.
Ques. What is the UPTAC counselling process for B.Tech admission at BNCET in 2026?
Ans. UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) is conducted by AKTU. Candidates register on uptac.admissions.nic.in, fill in preferences for colleges and branches (including BNCET), and rank-based seat allotment happens in multiple rounds. After receiving an allotment letter, candidates report to BNCET with original documents for verification and first-year fee payment. Management quota seats can be applied for directly at BNCET.
Ques. Is Biotechnology a good branch at BNCET for career prospects in Lucknow?
Ans. B.Tech Biotechnology at BNCET is affiliated to AKTU, which provides an industry-standard curriculum. Lucknow has a growing pharmaceutical and biotech industry cluster. Graduates can pursue roles in pharma companies, research labs, or public health organizations, or appear for GATE-BT for M.Tech admission. The branch is less competitive than CSE in immediate campus placements but opens research and government sector pathways.
Ques. Does UP government scholarship cover the full B.Tech fee at BNCET for SC/ST students?
Ans. The UP Government Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST students provides full tuition fee reimbursement subject to annual state government budget allocations and income-based eligibility. Students apply via scholarships.up.gov.in after admission. The scholarship covers the institutional tuition fee (INR 76,792 per year at BNCET) but AKTU university examination fees are paid separately and are not reimbursed under this scheme.
Ques. Can a BNCET B.Tech graduate appear for GATE and get admission to government colleges for M.Tech?
Ans. Yes. A B.Tech from BNCET is an AKTU-affiliated AICTE-approved degree that makes graduates fully eligible to appear for GATE. A good GATE score qualifies graduates for M.Tech admissions at NITs, IITs, and central universities through CCMT counselling. GATE scores also qualify for PSU recruitment in organizations such as BHEL, GAIL, and PGCIL, where institute tier is not a selection criterion.
