Candidates must hold a 3-year Diploma in Data Science or a related discipline from a recognised polytechnic affiliated to WBSCTVESD or equivalent board, with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).

A valid JELET 2026 score is mandatory. JELET is conducted by WBJEEB and is the entrance for B.Tech lateral entry at all MAKAUT-affiliated colleges in West Bengal.

After JELET results, candidates participate in MAKAUT centralised counselling at makautwb.ac.in and submit preferences for FIEM Kolkata.
