GVPCE Course Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Visakhapatnam, Andhra PradeshEstd 1996 JNTUK, Kakinada NAAC Grade A++

GVPCE Admission 2027 is handled by GVPIHLR, the deemed university that Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering became part of in 2026. The campus is in Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam. It offers B.Tech in 14 courses, M.Tech in 8 courses and research for a Ph.D. For B.Tech, you need a JEE Main percentile, an AP EAPCET rank or a GVPIHLR Common Entrance Test score. You apply on the GVPIHLR website, and seats are given through an allotment list. Your rank or percentile also decides a merit scholarship of 30% to 70% of the tuition fee. The B.Tech fee for the 2026 batch was INR 1 Lakh to INR 2.5 Lakhs a year. M.Tech costs INR 65,000 a year.

GVPCE B.Tech Computer Science Admission 2027

The School of Computer Science and Engineering teaches B.Tech CSE, CSE (AI & ML) and CSE (AI and Data Science). These three have the highest fee, INR 2.5 Lakhs a year for the 2026 batch. In 2025, CSE had 240 seats, AI & ML 120 and Data Science 60. With a JEE Main percentile of 97 or an AP EAPCET rank up to 800, you pay INR 75,000 a year.

GVPCE B.Tech Computer Science Eligibility 2027

You need Class 12 or Intermediate with Maths, Physics and Chemistry. You also need a valid score in one test: JEE Main, AP EAPCET or the GVPIHLR Common Entrance Test. GVPIHLR has not printed a minimum Class 12 percentage for 2026. Your test result decides your place in the merit order and your scholarship.

GVPCE Admission FAQs

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.

I have both a JEE Main percentile and an AP EAPCET rank. Which one should I use?▾
Use the one that puts you in the higher scholarship slab for your course. Compare both against the slab table on gvpihlr.in. You get only one scholarship, so pick the one that saves you more.
I took BiPC in Intermediate. Can I join a B.Tech course?▾
Yes, but only Chemical Engineering (Pharmaceutical). Every other course asks for Maths, Physics and Chemistry in your Class 12.
Does my merit scholarship continue every year?▾
Only if you meet three conditions each year. You need 85% attendance in every subject, and you must pass every subject in the first attempt. You also need a CGPA of 9.0 in the CSE group and ECE, or 8.5 in Mechanical, Civil, EEE and Chemical.
Can I take two scholarships together?▾
No. You can hold only one scholarship of any kind. If you qualify for a merit slab and a special award, pick the one that cuts your fee more.
Does the scholarship lower the INR 25,000 admission fee too?▾
No. Every scholarship cuts only the tuition fee. You pay the admission fee in full when you join.
Is there a scholarship for children of defence staff?▾
Yes. Children of serving or former defence staff get a 10% fellowship on the fee, if you take no other scholarship. Keep the service certificate ready when you join.
I won a sports medal. Will it lower my fee?▾
Yes. A state medal gets 25% off, a national medal 50% and an international medal 75%. Only eight students a year get this, so apply early with your medal certificates.
My elder sister studies at a GVP college. Do I get anything?▾
Yes. A sibling of a current GVP student gets INR 5,000 a year as a special scholarship. Tell the office about your sibling when you join.
Is there help for a single girl child?▾
Yes. A single girl child gets INR 10,000 a year. Children of GVP alumni get the same amount. Carry proof when you report.
Is there a fee award for SC, ST and OBC students?▾
Yes. The top 10% of SC, ST and OBC students by merit get 10% of the fee as a fellowship, if your family income is INR 3 Lakhs a year or less. Bring a recent income certificate.
Can a student with a disability get fee help?▾
Yes. Students in the differently abled group get a 10% fellowship on the fee. Bring your disability certificate from the competent authority.
What happens to my scholarship if I get a backlog?▾
You lose it from the semester in which you get the backlog. The same happens for malpractice or indiscipline. Clear every subject in the first attempt to keep it.
Will the college keep my Transfer Certificate?▾
Yes. GVPCE keeps your original Transfer Certificate. Your other originals come back to you after the check, so make two sets of photocopies before you go.
Which study certificates should I collect?▾
You need study certificates from Class 6 to Intermediate. Ask your old schools and your junior college for them early, because they take time.
My name on Aadhaar has a spelling mistake. Should I fix it?▾
Yes, fix it before admission day. Your name should match on your Aadhaar, marksheets and rank card, or your joining can get held up.
Can I still get a seat in the 2026 batch?▾
GVPIHLR has put out a notice that a few 2026 seats are open in all 14 courses. Visit the North Campus at Kommadi with your originals and ask at the admission office.
Does GVPIHLR take diploma holders into the second year?▾
GVPIHLR has not put out a lateral entry notice. Until 2025, diploma holders joined GVPCE in the second year through AP ECET. Watch gvpihlr.in for any new notice.
Is there a college bus from the city?▾
Yes. GVP runs buses on set routes, and the 2026 routes started on 21 Sep 2026. You pay the bus fee to a separate GVP account, not the tuition account.
Which bank details do I use for the fee?▾
Use the GVPIHLR account 191911010000142 at Union Bank of India, Kommadi, with IFSC UBIN0819191. Check these against the official notice before you pay.
How do I know which course I got?▾
Your course is printed on the allotment order that GVPIHLR emails to you. The provisional allotment list on gvpihlr.in also shows your name and branch.
Is my scholarship fixed before I pay the fee?▾
Yes. Your JEE Main percentile or AP EAPCET rank sets your slab when you join, so the tuition you pay already has the cut. Check the slab table for your course first.
Who do I call with a tuition fee question?▾
Call 8885043418, 8885043419, 9849550004 or 9885672050. These are the tuition fee numbers printed on the GVPIHLR fee notice.
Where do I go to take admission?▾
Go to the GVPIHLR North Campus at Kommadi, Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam 530 048. GVPCE classes are on the same Madhurawada campus. Carry every original certificate, because the office checks them before you join.

Which body will award my degree?▾
GVPIHLR awards your degree. It is a deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, so you can use the degree for jobs and higher studies in India.

Send your correct email address, name and branch to 8885043418 or 8885043419. Check your spam folder first, because the order may be there.
How much does the hostel cost?▾
The boys and girls hostels charged INR 90,000 a year for the 2026 batch, for a non AC room. You pay it to the hostel's own account. Call 8885043376 for boys or 8885043389 for girls.

GVPCE Admission FAQs

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.

Has GVPIHLR started Ph.D admissions for its own degree?▾
Not yet. It has put out B.Tech and M.Tech notices but no Ph.D notice so far. Keep checking the notifications on gvpihlr.in.
Do GVPCE departments already guide research scholars?▾
Yes. The NIRF 2026 data of GVPCE lists 123 scholars doing a part time Ph.D. Talk to the head of your department about guides in your subject.
Can I do a Ph.D part time while I keep my job?▾
Yes, UGC rules allow a part time Ph.D. You need a no objection certificate from your employer that lets you finish the coursework and research.
Do I need NET to apply for a Ph.D?▾
No. NET is not a must. Under UGC rules, NET or JRF holders can go straight to the interview, and others write the entrance test.
What marks do I need in my master's degree?▾
You need 55% or an equal grade. If you are SC, ST, OBC non creamy layer, differently abled or EWS, you need 50%.
Can I start a Ph.D straight after a four year B.Tech?▾
Yes, under UGC rules, if you have 75% or an equal grade in a four year degree. With less than 75%, you need a master's degree first.
How long does a Ph.D take?▾
At least three years and at most six years under UGC rules. Women and persons with disabilities get two more years, so plan your work in stages.
What is the Ph.D entrance test like?▾
Half of it tests research methodology and the other half tests your subject. Revise both before the test date.
Is there coursework in a Ph.D?▾
Yes. UGC rules ask for 12 to 16 credits of coursework, mostly in your first year. You must pass it before you move ahead with your research.
Will I get a fellowship?▾
If you hold a JRF, UGC pays your fellowship. GVPIHLR has not announced its own Ph.D fellowship yet, so ask when the notice comes out.
What should my research proposal show?▾
Show the problem you want to study, why it matters and how you plan to study it. Keep it short and clear, and match it to a GVPCE department.
Which subjects can I do a Ph.D in at GVPCE?▾
The departments here cover computer science, electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil and chemical engineering. GVPIHLR will list the Ph.D subjects in its notice.
Can a GATE score help me get into a Ph.D?▾
Yes. UGC rules let fellowship holders from GATE and similar tests go to the interview without the entrance test. Check the final rule in the GVPIHLR notice.
Is my thesis checked for copying?▾
Yes. Your thesis goes through a plagiarism check before you submit it. Write in your own words and cite every source you use.
How many times a year does UGC NET happen?▾
Twice a year, in a June cycle and a December cycle, held by NTA. A NET score lets you skip the entrance test under UGC rules.
What papers should I keep ready for a Ph.D application?▾
Keep your master's marksheets and degree, your Class 10 certificate, any NET, JRF or GATE card, a research proposal and photo ID. If you work, you also need an employer NOC.
Is there a Ph.D course fee?▾
GVPIHLR has not printed a Ph.D fee yet. You will see the figure with the notice, so plan your money after that.
What is a Research Advisory Committee?▾
It is a small group of faculty, including your supervisor, set up for every scholar under UGC rules. It reviews your progress each semester and guides your work.
How many scholars can one supervisor guide?▾
UGC rules allow a Professor up to eight scholars, an Associate Professor six and an Assistant Professor four. So you need a guide with a free slot.
Can a woman scholar take maternity leave during a Ph.D?▾
Yes. UGC rules allow you maternity or child care leave of up to 240 days once in the whole Ph.D.
Can I change my research topic after joining?▾
Talk to your supervisor and the Research Advisory Committee first. A change needs their approval, so settle your topic well before the interview.
Where do I go to take admission?▾
Go to the GVPIHLR North Campus at Kommadi, Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam 530 048. GVPCE classes are on the same Madhurawada campus. Carry every original certificate, because the office checks them before you join.
Can I pay my fee in cash?▾

GVPCE Admissions: Students' Opinion

  • BTech

AI-Generated Summary based on 550 Reviews

Admission to the B.Tech in Data Sciences program at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering is primarily conducted through the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (AP EAPCET). Candidates must have completed their 12th standard education to be eligible. For lateral entry into the second year, applicants need to clear the AP ECET after a diploma. The college also considers ranks obtained in JEE Mains. EAPCET covers subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with specific score distributions.

Cutoff ranks for admission vary; for instance, Computer Science Engineering typically demands ranks below 4,500 through EAPCET, with variations for reserved categories like SC/ST. The admission process involves counseling sessions managed by the state, where students can choose preferred colleges. An additional 30% of seats are available through management quota involving fees, but with no reservation benefits. Document verification and fee payments are required to confirm seats post-counseling, and online resources such as the official college and APSCHE websites provide application timelines and details.

Those applying through alternative routes like sports, NRI, or direct management quotas should anticipate different cost structures, including donations. The college stands out for its placement opportunities, updated curriculum, and supportive faculty, positioning it as a preferred choice in Visakhapatnam.
