LTCE Admission Process
LTCE follows a fully merit-based admission model. There is no management quota at LTCE. All seats are filled through DTE Maharashtra CAP based on MHT CET or JEE Main scores for B.E., and GATE scores for PG programmes.
B.E. Admission
Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Reserved category candidates from Maharashtra need 45%. A valid MHT CET or JEE Main 2026 score is mandatory for the DTE CAP merit list.
- Stage 1: Appear in MHT CET (PCM group) or JEE Main.
- Stage 2: Register on the DTE Maharashtra CAP portal and upload documents.
- Stage 3: Fill preferences for LTCE and branch choices during the choice filling window.
- Stage 4: Receive provisional allotment through CAP rounds based on merit and category.
- Stage 5: Report to LTCE with original documents within the DTE deadline to confirm seat.
State quota (70% of seats) is reserved for Maharashtra domicile candidates. All-India seats cover the remaining intake. MHT CET closing percentile for LTCE’s Computer Engineering branch has generally been in the 90 to 95 percentile range for General category candidates. CSE (AI and ML) and CSE (Data Science) branches, despite being newer, have seen similar demand given the sector’s growth.
B.E. Lateral Entry Admission
Diploma holders in Engineering or Technology with at least 45% aggregate marks are eligible for direct second-year BE admission through DTE Maharashtra DSE CAP. The MHT CET DSE score determines merit rank in the CAP.
M.E. / M.Tech Admission
PG engineering programmes at LTCE are filled through the Maharashtra PG Engineering CAP conducted by MHT CET Cell. A valid GATE score is mandatory. Eligibility requires a BE/B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks.
