Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering Navi Mumbai BE {Lateral} Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science): Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The total fee for the three-year BE Lateral CSE (Data Science) programme at LTCE is INR 4,54,000, as per the AY 2025-26 fee structure. This covers the full three-year programme. Hostel charges and one-time admission costs are not included in this total.

Ans. Admission is through DTE Maharashtra’s Direct Second Year (DSY) Engineering CAP. Diploma in Engineering holders in relevant branches register on the DTE Maharashtra portal, fill college-branch preferences, and receive allotment based on diploma marks. No entrance test is required for DSY admission.

Ans. Candidates who have completed a Diploma in Engineering in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Technology, or an equivalent branch from an AICTE-approved or government-approved institution are eligible. B.Sc. (Computer Science) graduates with Mathematics in their qualifying exam are also eligible for lateral entry.

Ans. Yes. Lateral entry students join directly into the second year of the B.E. programme and complete three years of study instead of four. On graduation they receive the same Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Mumbai as regular batch students, with no distinction on the degree certificate.

Ans. Graduates can pursue careers in data science, business analytics, data engineering, fintech, healthtech, e-commerce analytics, and IT services. The B.E. degree qualifies holders for GATE, PSU recruitment examinations, and M.Tech admissions at premier institutions. Lateral entry graduates are on an equal footing with regular batch graduates for campus placements.
