Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a three-year Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognised State Board of Technical Education with a minimum aggregate of 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B).

Alternatively, B.Sc. graduates with Mathematics at Class XII level may apply as per MAKAUT lateral entry norms, subject to availability after Diploma holders’ seats are filled.

Admission is through WB JELET (West Bengal Joint Entrance for Lateral Entry). Candidates are allotted seats through WBJEEB centralised counselling based on JELET rank.

Direct entry is to the third semester (second year) of the B.Tech programme at MCKVIE.

Admission Process

Register and appear for WB JELET 2026 through the WBJEEB portal at wbjeeb.in. Download the admit card, appear for the exam, and check your rank.

After JELET result, participate in WBJEEB centralised online counselling. Fill in MCKVIE Howrah as a preferred college and select the relevant branch.

Upon seat allotment, report to MCKVIE with original mark sheets, Diploma certificate, JELET rank card, allotment letter, and required documents.

Complete document verification and pay the semester fee and one-time charges at MCKVIE’s accounts office.

Attend the orientation programme and commence classes at the third semester of the B.Tech programme.
