RGIT Mumbai Admission Dates 2026

RGIT Mumbai BE admission follows DTE Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process (CAP), anchored by MHT-CET PCM or JEE Main scores. ME admission uses a valid GATE score through the DTE Maharashtra PG Engineering CAP. Admissions for the 2026-27 session have concluded with all four CAP rounds completed.

The next admission cycle (2027-28) will open with MHT-CET 2027 registration. Based on the prior year schedule, registration is expected in January to February 2027.

RGIT Mumbai Courses and Fees

RGIT Mumbai offers 10 BE branches, 3 ME specialisations, and 3 PhD programmes across engineering and technology disciplines. All 10 BE branches carry a uniform total fee of INR 5,24,000 for the 4-year duration, set by DTE Maharashtra.

Instrumentation Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering branches carry the same INR 5,24,000 flat fee. RGIT Mumbai does not operate a campus hostel, so no residential fee applies.

RGIT Mumbai Admission Process

RGIT Mumbai follows DTE Maharashtra’s centralised admission framework for all programmes. BE admission is merit-based through MHT-CET or JEE Main percentile. ME admission is through GATE. The institute reserves 20% of BE seats under the management and NRI quota, filled directly before CAP Round 1.

BE Admission at RGIT Mumbai

Eighty per cent of BE seats are allotted through DTE Maharashtra CAP based on MHT-CET PCM percentile or JEE Main percentile. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2 for BE eligibility.

The BE CAP selection follows six steps: qualify MHT-CET or JEE Main, register on cetcell.mahacet.org, complete document verification, fill branch and institute preferences, accept seat allotment online, and report to RGIT Mumbai on the allotment date.

MHT-CET PCM closing percentiles at RGIT Mumbai have historically been in the 90 to 95 range for Computer Engineering and Information Technology under the General Category. Civil and Mechanical branches typically close at 60 to 75 percentile. Final-year 10+2 students may apply provisionally.

ME Admission at RGIT Mumbai

ME admission is processed through DTE Maharashtra PG Engineering CAP using a valid GATE score in the relevant paper. No interview or group discussion is required.

• ME Computer Network and Information System: BE/B.Tech in CS or IT, minimum 50% (45% reserved), valid GATE in CS paper

RGIT Mumbai Placements

RGIT Mumbai placement activity is concentrated in Computer Engineering, IT, and AI and Data Science branches. Campus drives primarily feature IT services and product companies operating in the Mumbai and Pune corridor.

Confirmed campus recruiters at RGIT Mumbai include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, KPIT Technologies, and Cognizant. Most hiring is for software development, testing, and IT services roles. Computer Engineering and IT graduates account for the largest share of placed students each cycle.

RGIT Mumbai Campus and Infrastructure

RGIT Mumbai occupies an urban campus at Juhu Versova Link Road, Andheri (West), Mumbai 400053, minutes from the Versova Metro station on Line 1. The institute serves approximately 1,920 undergraduate students across all four years of the BE programme and has 147 faculty members.

Key academic infrastructure includes a central library, computer centre, central workshop, language laboratory, conference room, auditorium, and multiple seminar halls. NBA accreditation has been sought for select engineering branches. The institute is AICTE approved and recognised by UGC.

RGIT Mumbai does not operate a residential hostel. Students arrange private paying-guest accommodation in Andheri West, Versova, and Oshiwara, all well-connected by the Mumbai Metro Line 1 and BEST bus routes. Shared PG accommodation in the area is available at INR 5,000 to INR 15,000 per month.

Aspirants shortlisting private engineering colleges in Mumbai affiliated to the University of Mumbai commonly compare RGIT Mumbai with Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (TSEC) in Bandra West and Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT) in Chembur. All three admit students through DTE Maharashtra CAP using MHT-CET or JEE Main scores.

RGIT Mumbai offers the widest branch portfolio in this comparison, including Biomedical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering not available at TSEC or VESIT.
