SAKEC Admission Dates 2026

All admissions to SAKEC BE and B.Tech programmes for the 2026-27 session are handled through the Maharashtra Centralised Admission Process (CAP). There is no direct management quota admission at SAKEC. CAP Rounds for the current cycle are underway following the MHT-CET 2026 result declaration in June 2026.

SAKEC Courses and Fees

SAKEC offers 12 regular UG engineering branches (4 BE and 8 B.Tech), lateral entry routes, 3 B.Voc programmes, and 3 M.Tech specialisations. Fees are identical across all regular BE and B.Tech branches. VLSI Design and Technology and Advanced Communication Technology are distinctive BE offerings uncommon in Mumbai city college engineering portfolios.

The Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) is available for students with family income below INR 4 Lakhs per annum. Under TFWS, the tuition fee component is waived for eligible candidates admitted through CAP. SAKEC has no on-campus hostel and does not charge hostel fees.

SAKEC Admission Process

SAKEC has no management quota. All BE and B.Tech seats are filled through Maharashtra CAP using MHT-CET or JEE Main percentile scores. The process is entirely centralised through the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell.

BE / B.Tech (First Year) Admission

• Eligibility: Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with minimum 45% aggregate in PCM (40% for reserved categories).
• Entrance: Valid MHT-CET or JEE Main score is mandatory.
• Process: Register on fe2026.mahacet.org, submit documents, fill preferences, receive CAP allotment.
• Minority Quota: Kutchhi Gujarati community candidates are eligible for Minority Quota seats within CAP. A valid minority community certificate from a competent authority is required at document verification.
• TFWS: Students with family income below INR 4 Lakhs may apply for TFWS seats through CAP to avail tuition fee waiver.

MHT-CET cutoff percentiles for CSE and IT at SAKEC (General category) have historically ranged between 92 to 96 percentile in recent CAP cycles, making them among the more sought-after branches at the college. VLSI Design and Advanced Communication Technology typically have lower competition and accessible cutoffs even for candidates in the 70 to 80 percentile range.

B.Tech Lateral Entry Admission

• Eligibility: Diploma in Engineering with minimum 50% from any AICTE-recognised polytechnic.
• Process: MAH-PGET/DTE Lateral Entry CAP rounds conducted by Maharashtra State.
• Candidates are directly admitted to the second year (third semester) of the B.Tech programme.

M.Tech Admission

• Eligibility: BE/B.Tech in relevant engineering discipline with minimum 50%.
• Entrance: GATE or MAH-ME/MTech CET score required.
• Allotment: MAH-ME/MTech CAP rounds run by Maharashtra State at cetcell.mahacet.org.

SAKEC Placements

SAKEC placement data is drawn from the official placement cell records. The 2025-26 placement season saw 178 companies participate, generating 282 offers. The highest offer stood at INR 52 LPA and the average CTC was INR 4.79 LPA. A total of 77 offers were above INR 5 LPA.

Core sectors hiring SAKEC graduates include IT services, electronics product companies, and software development firms. Confirmed recruiters from recent placement seasons include TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Accenture, L and T, Directi, JP Morgan Chase, Mu Sigma, and Oracle.
