Which B.Tech branch should you pick at SVCE?

Branch
CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) (CSE (AI and ML))
360 seats. Closed at 19,526 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want AI and machine learning with a large batch: 360 seats make it the biggest CSE specialisation here, so you share every campus drive with many classmates.
Your OC rank is close to 19,526: that was the 2025 phase 1 close, the toughest of all ten branches.
You want the CSE labs and faculty: it sits in the CSE department, which has an R&D centre and a Cisco academy.
Skip it if:
You want an NBA accredited branch: NBA lists six branches here, and this one is not among them yet.
Your rank is a few thousand past the close: CSE (Data Science) closed at 22,286, so list it right below.
Information Technology (IT)
180 seats. Closed at 36,556 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want software jobs at an easier close: IT closed at 36,556 against 19,834 for CSE, and service firms such as TCS and Wipro hire from both.
You want an NBA accredited software branch: IT is one of the six accredited branches, unlike the new CSE specialisations.
You want a mid-sized batch: it has 180 seats, far fewer than the 480 in CSE.
Skip it if:
Your OC rank is well inside the CSE close: take CSE, since the two share the same fee and the same campus drives.
You want AI or data work in your title: the AI courses sit in the CSE specialisations, not in IT.
CSE (Cyber Security)
120 seats. Closed at 24,408 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want security work, not general coding: this is the only branch here built around network and system security, with 120 seats.
Your OC rank sits between 22,286 and 24,408: that is the gap between the Data Science and Cyber Security closes in 2025.
Skip it if:
You want an NBA accredited branch: Cyber Security is new and not on the NBA list yet.
You want the widest choice of campus drives: most service firms on the 2026 list hire any CSE branch, so the name adds little there.
Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
480 seats. Closed at 31,229 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want chips and hardware, not only code: ECE has an R&D centre, the VLSI Design M.Tech and a chip design conference on campus.
Your OC rank misses the CSE branches: ECE closed at 31,229 and has 480 seats, the most after CSE.
You want an NBA accredited branch: ECE is one of the six branches NBA accredits here.
Skip it if:
You want a pure software career: IT closed at 36,556, so a rank that fits ECE often fits IT too.
You dislike circuit labs: ECE carries electronics labs in most semesters, unlike the CSE branches.
CSE (Data Science)
120 seats. Closed at 22,286 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want data work with a small batch: it has 120 seats inside the CSE department, one third of the AI and ML batch.
Your OC rank misses CSE (AI and ML): Data Science closed at 22,286 in 2025, the next branch down.
Skip it if:
You want an NBA accredited branch: Data Science is new and not on the NBA list yet.
You cannot risk missing a CSE seat: Data Science filled right behind AI and ML in 2025, so keep IT on your list too.
Civil Engineering (Civil)
60 seats. Closed at 88,511 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want site and building work: Civil is the smallest branch with 60 seats, so you know every classmate by year 2.
Your OC rank is past 80,000: Civil closed at 88,511 in 2025, one of the last three branches to fill.
You want an NBA accredited branch: Civil is on the NBA list with CSE, ECE, EEE, IT and Mechanical.
Skip it if:
You want the most campus offers: the 2026 list is led by software training and service firms that mostly hire CSE and IT.
You want a desk job in a city: most first jobs in Civil start on a project site.
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
480 seats. Closed at 19,834 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want the flagship branch with 480 seats: CSE has the R&D centre, a Cisco academy since 2016 and an M.Tech on campus.
Your OC rank is close to 19,834: that was the 2025 CSE close, only a few hundred ranks behind CSE (AI and ML).
You want an NBA accredited branch: CSE is accredited, unlike the new CSE specialisations.
Skip it if:
You want a small class: 480 seats make CSE one of the two biggest branches here.
Your rank is past 25,000: CSE is out of reach at that rank; ECE and IT closed later.
CSE (Artificial Intelligence) (CSE (AI))
60 seats. New branch, so no 2025 close.
Pick it if:
You want AI in a small first batch: it has 60 seats, and it had no seats in the 2025 counselling.
You want the CSE department's labs: it sits with the other CSE branches and the CSE R&D centre.
Skip it if:
You want a close to check: no 2025 close exists, so you cannot tell how tough it will be.
You want an NBA accredited branch: a new branch cannot be accredited until batches pass out.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
240 seats. Closed at 79,502 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want power and electrical work: EEE has 240 seats and plant firms such as Amara Raja and Premier Energies on the 2026 list.
Your OC rank is between 40,000 and 80,000: EEE closed at 79,502 in 2025, after every CSE branch, ECE and IT.
You want an NBA accredited branch: EEE is one of the six accredited branches here.
Skip it if:
You want software pay from year 1: the software firms on the list hire from the CSE branches and IT first.
You dislike machines and circuits: EEE labs cover motors, power systems and electronics.
Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical)
120 seats. Closed at 97,215 for OC in phase 1 of 2025.
Pick it if:
You want plant and design jobs: Mitsuba India, ZF Rane, Brakes India and Caterpillar are on the 2026 hiring list.
Your OC rank is past 90,000: Mechanical closed at 97,215 in 2025, the last branch to fill.
You want an NBA accredited branch: Mechanical is one of the six accredited branches here.
Skip it if:
You want a large alumni group in your branch: it has 120 seats, a quarter of CSE.
You want a city office job: most core offers start on a shop floor in a plant.
Counsellor's advice
If your OC rank clears CSE (AI and ML) or CSE, take it. If it clears only ECE or IT, list them above EEE, Civil and Mechanical, and keep the final phase in mind.

Placement insights
Students placed rose from 642 in 2023 to 962 in 2025, while the median offer slipped from INR 4.8 LPA to INR 4.5 LPA.
QSpiders made the most offers on the 2026 list, 132, and plant makers Mitsuba, ZF Rane and Modine hired 172 more between them.
The college reports a median and no average, and only a handful of 2026 offers reached INR 11 LPA, so the median is the figure to trust.
Amara Raja has its battery plant on Karakambadi Road, the same road as the campus, and it is on the 2026 hiring list.
Good to know
The four SV Colleges share one placement cell, so one company visit covers all of them.

In short
SVCET Chittoor costs INR 13,200 less and places a bigger share at a higher median. If pay matters most, list it above SVCE; if you want a larger batch with more graduates in higher studies, keep SVCE first.
In short
SIETK Puttur costs less and reports the highest median here, INR 6.25 LPA. If your rank gets you a CSE branch at both, SIETK is the stronger pay pick.
In short
AITS Rajampet charges the lowest fee and placed the largest share of its batch. If distance from Tirupati is fine for you, it is the better value on these numbers.
In short
RGMCET Nandyal costs less but placed only 69% of its batch at a lower median. If SVCE gives you any branch, take SVCE first.

FAQs on Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering B.Tech

Short answers to what students ask before they apply.

How do I get admission to B.Tech at SVCE?▾
Write AP EAPCET and register for the state counselling. In web options, list the SVCE branches you want with college code SVCE. The state allots 70% of the seats by rank and category; the college fills the other 30% under the management quota.
Is the fee the same for every branch?▾
Yes. The state fee order fixes INR 74,500 a year for every branch, so the full 4-year fee is INR 2.98 Lakhs. Hostel, mess and transport are paid on top.
Which branch is the easiest to get?▾
Mechanical closed last in phase 1 of 2025, at 97,215 for OC, with Civil at 88,511 just before it. The branch list above shows every closing rank.
Does the state pay the fee for some students?▾
Yes. The AP post-matric scholarship pays the full fee for SC, ST, BC, EWS and minority students with a family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs, on a convener quota seat.
Does pay differ by branch?▾
The college reports one median for the whole B.Tech batch: INR 4.5 LPA in 2025, with 84% placed. Nothing is published by branch, so the branch list uses closing ranks, not pay.
Can diploma holders join B.Tech here?▾
Yes. Diploma holders join straight into year 2 through AP ECET, up to 20% of the intake.
Is CSE (AI) a new branch?▾
Yes. It has 60 seats and had no seats in the 2025 counselling, so there is no closing rank to check yet.
