Ans. Yes, the Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning offered at TCOE through lateral entry is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and is approved by AICTE. The degree carries the University of Mumbai affiliation, which is widely recognised by employers across Maharashtra and for postgraduate admissions such as ME or MBA programmes in India.
Ques. What is the difference between BE Lateral and the regular BE AIML programme at TCOE?
Ans. The BE Lateral programme is a 3-year course designed exclusively for students who hold a diploma in engineering. It offers direct entry into the Second Year of the BE programme, effectively saving one year compared to the regular 4-year BE route. The regular BE programme requires students to have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and enter through MHT CET or JEE Main. Both programmes lead to the same University of Mumbai degree upon completion. The lateral route is a strong option for working professionals or diploma holders who want to upgrade their qualification efficiently.
