PIMR Indore MBA FAQs
Ques. Can a candidate with a strong CAT score bypass the mandatory PIMR Admission Test?
Ans. No. The PIMR Admission Test is mandatory for all applicants regardless of CAT, CMAT, or any other national score. The selection process uses the higher of your PIMR test percentile or your best national exam percentile for the 50% exam score component. A strong CAT score still improves your effective merit score, but appearing for the PIMR test remains compulsory. Candidates who miss the PIMR test date are not considered for admission that cycle.
Ques. Since PIMR does not use MP DTE counselling, how does the MBA application process work?
Ans. PIMR manages all MBA admissions independently. Register on the institute’s PG admissions portal and pay the INR 3,000 registration fee. After the PIMR Admission Test, shortlisted candidates attend Group Discussion and Personal Interview at the Indore campus. The merit list uses 50% exam score, 30% academic profile and work experience, and 10% each for GD and PI. There is no centralized counselling, no management quota, and no NRI seats at PIMR.
Ques. Which companies and sectors recruit from PIMR Indore for MBA placements?
Ans. The 2025 season saw 325+ companies recruit from PIMR. The BFSI sector led with 23.5% of placements, followed by IT at 15.3% and FMCG at 5.6%. Goldman Sachs, Amazon, PwC, Deloitte, HDFC Bank, HUL, and Jio were among the key recruiters. The average package was INR 6.5 LPA and the highest was INR 20.5 LPA. PIMR’s location in Indore attracts both regional and national recruiters.
Ques. How does the merit scholarship process work for candidates with high Class 12 marks?
Ans. PIMR awards merit scholarships automatically based on Class 12 board marks verified at admission. Candidates above 95% in Class 12 get a 70% tuition fee waiver. Those scoring 90% to 95% get a 50% waiver, and 85% to 90% receives a 10% to 50% waiver. No separate application is needed. Original marksheets must be submitted during document processing, and the waiver is applied directly to the semester fee at enrollment.
Ques. What does the dual specialization option in the PIMR MBA involve?
Ans. PIMR offers a dual specialization MBA where students select two functional areas from Marketing Management, Financial Administration, International Business, Business Analytics, Human Resource Management, and Advertising Management and Public Relations. Students finalize their combination in Semester III. The dual option allows graduates to pitch themselves across two domains, for instance Marketing plus Finance, which is valued by companies seeking cross-functional candidates in BFSI and consulting roles.
