Placements are good compared to colleges with a similar profile and affordability. The college is one of the best in the NCR region. All the students get placed in the college with some getting more than one offers also. I plan to go into the analytics and finance domain also complete management from the college.
I had heard from several colleagues and friends that the college was one of the best for management education. Also, I had done research about the college performance online and through various offline media such as newspapers. I also had a senior from my BTech who was enrolled in the same program. He helped me in guide further regarding the actual performance of the college which was quite impressive according to me.
The placements for the batch of 2019 were excellent with the average being around 22 LPA. Many good companies visited the campus for the final recruitment like Shell, Amazon, Bain, GE, Wipro, KPMG etc. The ROI is high when compared to other institutes.
Good things: Small batch size, two-semester in a year therefore course load is relatively less. Peer to peer learning with batchmates and professors are quite helpful and lenient. The global field study program for a week one of the centres of attraction. Bad things: Not enough placement opportunities in some of the domains.
The final placements start in the month of December and it takes place in 2 phases. The highest package goes up to 32 lakhs with mean CTC at 22 LPA and median at 20 LPA. DMS witnesses 100 percent placements every year.
Less batch size and good ROI made me choose the college. As it is located in the NCR region and being a part of IIT Delhi, the placements are good. The admission process starts in January. Application procedure usually closes by the end of January and WAT-PI will be in the months of March and April. Results will be declared in May. The classes commence in the month of August.
Final Placements start in Semester 3 and Summer Placements Start in Semester 1. FYI, there are four semesters. Many companies visit DMS. All the required information can be accessed from our official website which has the placement report.
The college is good overall. The curriculum is well designed and useful. The admission process is through CAT only. The cut-Off for General category goes around 96+ percentile. One can prefer this college given the options available to them. Among all the IITs offering MBA, IIT Bombay (SJMSOM) comes first, and DMS, IITD is on par with IIT, Kharagpur (VGSOM). NIRF Rankings of DMS, IITD have been good for the last few years. The official website of DMS, IIT Delhi and the official social media handles of DMS, IIT Delhi are good sources of college-related information. The IIT Delhi website provides all the facilities at IIT Delhi, which are all accessible to DMS, IIT Delhi students as well. One can reach out to the alumni of DMS, IIT on Linkedin and learn from their experiences and make an educated decision about joining the college. The placement cell exists to provide opportunities. Many MBA competitions are open to DMS, IITD students on Dare2Compete and other platforms.
The college does provide 100% internship and placement opportunities to the students in various domains such as sales and marketing, finance, consulting, and operations. Many renowned companies visit the campus for final placement. The average CTC for final placement is around 20L per annum which begins at the end of the 3rd semester.
Established in 1997, DMS, IIT Delhi is situated in the heart of the city. It is ranked 8th in the NIRF ranking 2020. The fee structure for the entire program is approximately 10 L which is very reasonable and placement salary is around 20L PA which is being higher than most colleges in India, which provides a great ROI. The curriculum of the college is as per the need of the industry and it helps students to strive towards excellence by providing great opportunities in form of Live Projects and Internship.
In 2020, the college has secured 100% final placements with average CTC of around 22 lakh and a median of 20 lakh rupees. The jobs were offered in various domains such as general management, operations and supply chain, sales and marketing, IT, Analytics & Consulting.
DMS, IIT Delhi is an established name not only in the academic fraternity but also in the corporate world. Department's mettle can be recognized by its eminent faculty, unique pedagogy, environment to interact with industry leaders through various industry interactions. The excellent placement record of 100% placements for the past many years with top is known recruiters visiting the college. It also has a huge location advantage.
One of the MSPs of the college is the placement records. The average stipend is 15 LPA which is commendable for colleges in this league. The summer placements went really great and the entire batch got placed within about 5-6 weeks.
The placement records were good, and I believe attending college in Delhi will provide a very good exposure in terms of interacting with industry personnel. The college has excellent pedagogy and professors which makes learning interactive and highly engaging. The cons would be having the department running under the Central IIT’s administration makes it hard to run freely.
Final placements start in the month of November. Many MNCs, startups, foreign companies and companies from different sectors visits the campus for summer internships and final placements as well. Placement activities take place in 2 phases. Profiles offered by the companies are at par the positions offered to IIM and other B School graduates. Almost 100% of the students are placed every year. Highest placement goes up to 32 lakhs, the average is 22 lakhs and the median package is 20 lakhs. The figures are almost the same for all the specializations that DMS offers. There are enormous opportunities for students of each specialization. Overall placement scenario at DMS is good.
DMS IIT Delhi is one of the prestigious colleges for MBA. It is constantly ranked top 10 as per NIRF ranking for Management colleges and ranked 1 for Research, AAA+ ranking as per TIME Institute, 5th in QS ranking. Moreover, the location of Delhi attracts a lot of corporate for placements. DMS is better than most of the new IIMs in terms of educational excellence, placements, location, opportunities and quality of faculties. Although, since it is part of IIT D most of the activities are controlled by central IIT D Administration, thus slowing down the process. Semester system affects major International collabs. It also lacks IIM tag and fame among commoners. Admission form opens a day after CAT results. CAT Scores, academic background & record, gender, form SI Score with is the criteria for shortlisting and WAT, PI along with SI Scores decides final selection at DMS. Global Field Study program, wherein all students visit the International Institute adds to diversified learning of students.
From the first semester itself, students are eligible for campus placements. Summer internship process starts immediately after joining the college in the first semester. Final placements start after completing the third semester. DMS, IIT Delhi has 100% placements record. Average package is approximately Rs 20L.
I chose this college because of it's ranking (comes under Top 20 B-schools in India). Peers are from IITs NITs etc. Good infrastructure facilities. ROI is good - Fees 9L-10L and average package 20L. The college provides 100% placements.
This is one of the best colleges for MBA in terms of ROI in India. It has an average package of 22.5 L in 2019 and one can expect best companies not only in India but in the world to line up for the final placements.
Reason to prefer DMS IIT Delhi 1. Small batch size 2. 12th rank B-school in India 3. ROI 4. Top Faculties 5. Global field study program. Admission process like CAT entrance exam, Overall profile, PI, Extra-curriculars. Combining score of all will gives an index on the basis of which ranking is done and hence candidates are given admission. There are various social media handles through which I came across DMS, starting with the pagalguy and twitter.
