MDI Gurgaon Executive PGDPP FAQs
Ques. Who is the MDI Gurgaon PPM program designed for?
Ans. The 12-Month Hybrid Programme on Public Policy and Management at MDI Gurgaon is designed for government officers from All India Services (IAS, IPS, IFS), Central Services, and State Civil Services who are sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Additionally, self-sponsored seats are available for senior professionals from NGOs, multilateral agencies, international organizations, and consulting firms focused on public policy, governance, and development.
Ques. What entrance exams are accepted for the MDI PPM program?
Ans. Self-sponsored candidates must submit a valid score from CAT-2025, GMAT, or XAT 2026 as part of their application. DoPT-sponsored government officers do not need to submit entrance exam scores, as their selection is administered through the government nomination and DoPT process. Interviews for all shortlisted candidates are held at MDI Gurgaon or via Zoom in August 2026.
Ques. How is the MDI PPM program structured as a hybrid program?
Ans. The 12-month hybrid PPM at MDI Gurgaon combines residential on-campus sessions at the Gurugram campus with online delivery modules, allowing participants to manage both program requirements and professional obligations. The residential components provide immersive learning and peer interaction, while online sessions offer flexibility for government officers who may not be based in Delhi-NCR throughout the program duration.
Ques. Can private sector professionals apply for MDI PPM without DoPT sponsorship?
Ans. Yes, self-sponsored seats in the MDI PPM program are open to senior professionals from private consulting firms, NGOs, multilateral organizations, and other entities working in public policy and governance. Candidates must have at least 5 years of post-qualification full-time executive work experience and a valid CAT, GMAT, or XAT score to be considered. Application is made directly through the MDI Gurgaon portal with a registration fee of INR 3,000.
Ques. What are the career outcomes of the MDI PPM program?
Ans. The MDI PPM program is designed to enhance the leadership and management capabilities of public policy professionals rather than facilitate job placement. Government officer participants typically return to their services with improved strategic and governance management skills. Self-sponsored participants often leverage the MDI brand and network to advance in policy consulting, think tanks, multilateral advisory roles, and development sector leadership positions.
