Admission to the college is primarily through the Karnataka CET, a 240-mark exam, or the COMEDK exam. The CET score, combined with PUC-2 marks, determines ranking and selection according to branch-specific cutoffs. The fee structure is determined by the KEA Board, with CET admissions costing Rs 61,500, COMED-K Rs 1,35,000, and management seats Rs 1,50,000. The college has a commendable faculty, with over 250 members, including some with IIT PhDs, recognized for their effective teaching and support.
The mechanical branch, however, lacks female faculty. Placement is strong, with about 70% of students placed, despite placement opportunities declining due to industry issues. The highest package offered is Rs 11.5 lakh per annum. The process starts in the 5th semester with around 27 companies visiting, and the college provides interview preparation and internships with stipends. Scholarships are mainly from the government, with Vidyasiri available for students with family incomes under Rs 2.5 lakh.
OBC and SC/ST students receive significant state support, and SC/ST students benefit from free mess and hostel facilities. Government seat fees are Rs 89,640, while private or management seats can be up to Rs 3 lakh. The college also engages in state scholarship programs, though the funding often falls short of covering fees.
