Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU) or VTU Belgaum was established by the government of Karnataka as a public university on April 01, 1998 through the passing of the VTU Act, 1998 at the Karnataka state legislative assembly. The motto of the university is ‘Above all be human’. The university has 67100 students are listed in the undergraduate courses, while 12,666 are listed in the postgraduate courses and 1800 students are listed in the doctorate courses. VTU Admission is done through entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, KMAT.
VTU is a premier university in the field of technical education in India. The University has 202 affiliated colleges. The University offers Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) courses to the interested candidates. The duration of BE/ B.Tech program is 4 years whereas B.Arch takes five years to complete its duration. To be eligible for admission to UG courses, candidates should have passed class 12 in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks.
To get admission in BE/ B.Tech program applicants need to appear any of the entrance exams such as JEE Main or KCET. Those who are seeking admission to B.Arch program have to appear NATA Exam (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
VTU provides the range of postgraduate courses i.e. MBA, MCA, M.Tech and M.Arch. Candidates having graduation degree in relevant discipline with minimum required marks from a well-recognized university are eligible to apply for PG courses.

Students can also check the VTU Revaluation result through the VTU alert portal. This portal is specially designed to provide all details related to revaluation process & news related to VTU. Here students can directly challenge the VTU exam board regarding their marks, but the students are advised to apply within the stipulated time. In order to check the revaluation result, students have to enter their University Seat Number (USN).
All those students who have appeared in the semester exam have the right to apply for the answer sheet only. The University invites applications from students for revaluation along with the soft copies of the answer sheets. Students have to pay a fixed amount of fee. On receipt of answer scripts students can check their answers, in case any answer is not evaluated, students can apply for the revaluation.
Those students who are not satisfied with their internal semester marks can repeat the whole semester in order to improve the marks. Students must keep in mind that they have to repeat all subjects of a particular semester. However, there is no provision for the rejection of the marks of any individual subject. Such rejections are permitted only once during the entire course of study.
In this case, students have to take readmission in the same semester again & also have to attend the classes to obtain newly improved marks. In order to apply for the rejection results cum readmission, the application shall be sent to the Registrar (Academic) within 30 days from the date of announcement of results.
Note: Students can also apply to the improvement of external marks, only by keeping the next term attended.
