TCET Mumbai Admission Process

TCET’s seat matrix follows a fixed pattern across all programmes: 51% Hindi Minority seats, 29% DTE Maharashtra CAP seats, and 20% Institute-Level seats. Candidates apply for all three pools separately where applicable.

BE/B.Tech Admission

First-year BE/B.Tech at TCET requires a valid MHT-CET or JEE Main score. The minimum eligibility is 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, and at least 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories). No separate TCET entrance test is held.

  • Appear in MHT-CET or JEE Main and obtain a non-zero score
  • Register on DTE Maharashtra CAP portal and fill TCET preferences
  • Accept DTE CAP allotment and report within the specified deadline
  • For Institute-Level seats, apply at admission.tcetmumbai.in with a valid MHT-CET score

MHT-CET 2026 Computer Engineering (open category) cutoff at TCET has been in the 96 to 97 percentile range in recent cycles. Hindi Minority category cutoffs are typically 93 to 95 percentile for the same branch. Lateral entry (diploma holders) is through DTE Lateral CAP with minimum 45% in diploma.

MBA Admission

TCET MBA is a 2-year programme admitted through MAH-MBA-CET scores and DTE Maharashtra CAP. Eligibility requires any bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% for reserved). CAT and CMAT scores are also accepted per DTE norms. No GD or PI is held for CAP-allotted seats.

MCA and ME Admission

MCA admission at TCET goes through MAH-MCA-CET and DTE CAP. ME and M.Tech are admitted via MAH-ME-CET or GATE scores through DTE CAP. Eligibility for ME/M.Tech requires a BE/B.Tech degree with minimum 50% aggregate in a relevant engineering discipline.

At TCET (Thakur College of Engineering & Technology), Mumbai, a Leaving Certificate (LC) alone, even if it includes your mother tongue, is not sufficient to claim linguistic minority status. You must also submit an affidavit declaring minority status on a ?100 non-judicial stamp paper, duly notarized, in the institution’s prescribed format.
