CiTech BE FAQs
Ques. What is the fee for BE at CiTech under KCET government-quota vs COMEDK management-quota?
Ans. The fees listed in this article are for COMEDK management-quota seats, ranging from INR 8,00,000 for Civil, EEE, and Mechanical to INR 24,00,000 for CSE, AIML, and Data Science. KCET government-quota fees are regulated by the Karnataka government and are significantly lower. Confirm KCET-quota fees for each branch at citechblr.edu.in or through the KEA counselling portal.
Ques. What is the difference between BE Data Science and BE AIML at CiTech Bangalore?
Ans. BE Data Science at CiTech focuses on statistical modelling, data analysis, and machine learning for data engineering and analytics roles. BE AIML focuses on deep learning, neural networks, and AI systems for AI product development and ML engineering roles. Both are four-year VTU-affiliated programmes. AIML is more software-research oriented while Data Science has a stronger applied analytics component.
Ques. Can non-Karnataka students apply for BE at CiTech Bangalore?
Ans. Yes. Non-Karnataka students can apply through the COMEDK UGET route, which is open to candidates from all states. KCET is restricted to Karnataka-domicile candidates. Apply through the COMEDK counselling portal at comedk.org with your COMEDK UGET rank. Management-quota seats under COMEDK are available across all eight BE specialisations at CiTech.
Ques. Is the BE from CiTech (VTU) recognised for GATE and higher studies abroad?
Ans. Yes. A VTU-affiliated BE from CiTech is a recognised undergraduate engineering degree. Graduates are fully eligible to appear for GATE in their respective discipline for M.Tech or PSU admission. For higher studies abroad, most universities accept UGC-recognised Indian engineering degrees. Confirm with the target university’s credential evaluation requirements before applying.
Ques. Does CiTech Bangalore offer lateral entry into BE for diploma holders?
Ans. VTU allows lateral entry into the second year of BE for diploma holders through the Karnataka Lateral Entry Test (KLET). Diploma holders in a relevant branch can apply for lateral entry to CiTech’s BE programme. Confirm seat availability for lateral entry in each specialisation at citechblr.edu.in and check VTU lateral entry norms for the current academic year.
