SLCU Admission Process

SLCU does not accept CLAT. All UG law admissions go through CULEE, a four-stage eliminatory process conducted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University). LLM admissions use a separate entrance test with similar downstream stages.

BA LLB and BBA LLB Admission

Candidates must clear all four stages in sequence. Clearing one stage does not guarantee advancement to the next.

  • Eligibility: Class 12 from any recognised board, any stream, minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST)
  • Stage 1 - CULEE: 120 MCQs in 90 minutes covering English, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, and Data Interpretation
  • Stage 2 - Skill Assessment: Written test on analytical ability and subject understanding
  • Stage 3 - Micro Presentation: 90-second oral presentation on an assigned topic
  • Stage 4 - Personal Interview: Faculty assess legal aptitude, personality, and motivation

Final merit is computed across all four stages. CULEE is conducted across multiple phases (typically 3 to 4 per cycle), allowing candidates who miss one phase to attempt the next.

LLM Admission

LLM admission is through a Christ Entrance Test (PG Law) followed by Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.

  • Eligibility: LLB (3-year or 5-year) with minimum 50% aggregate from a UGC-recognised university
  • Christ Entrance Test: 120 MCQs in 120 minutes covering Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and legal reasoning
  • Shortlisted candidates attend Micro Presentation and Personal Interview

PhD (Law) Admission

PhD admission uses the Christ Research Aptitude Test. Candidates need an LLM with minimum 55% aggregate. Full-time and part-time tracks are available, with minimum durations of 3 and 4 years respectively.

SLCU Placements

SLCU placed 207 UG law graduates in a recent cycle, with a reported median salary of INR 6 LPA. PG (LLM) placements covered 120 students with a median of INR 3.7 LPA. The highest reported offer was INR 13.5 LPA.

Note: SLCU placement data is self-reported by the institution and has not been independently verified by a third-party auditor. Placement outcomes vary by specialisation, graduating class performance, and economic conditions in the legal sector. Verify the latest placement report with the SLCU Career Services office.

Recruiters at SLCU span law firms, corporate legal departments, NGOs, courts, and legal process outsourcing companies. Most BA LLB graduates pursue litigation, corporate roles, or further study (LLM or civil services). BBA LLB graduates lean toward corporate advisory, in-house legal, and M&A roles.
