JNTUH-SIT MCA FAQs
Ques. What is TG ICET and is it mandatory for JNTUH-SIT MCA admission?
Ans. TG ICET (Telangana Integrated Common Entrance Test) is the state-level entrance exam for MBA and MCA programmes in Telangana, conducted by the Telangana Council of Higher Education. A non-zero TG ICET score is mandatory for admission to JNTUH-SIT MCA. Seat allotment is done through centralised counselling on tgicet.nic.in based on TG ICET rank and candidate preferences. Candidates who have not appeared in TG ICET are not eligible for admission.
Ques. What is the total programme fee for MCA at JNTUH-SIT Hyderabad?
Ans. The total programme fee for the 2-year MCA at JNTUH-SIT is INR 57,000, comprising INR 30,000 for Year 1 (two semesters at INR 15,000 each) and INR 27,000 for Year 2 (two semesters at INR 13,500 each). As a government university school, fees are regulated by the Telangana state and kept at nominal levels, making the programme one of the most affordable MCA options in Hyderabad.
Ques. What is the intake capacity for MCA at JNTUH-SIT?
Ans. The annual intake for MCA at JNTUH-SIT is 30 seats. These seats are filled through the TG ICET centralised counselling process conducted by the Telangana Council of Higher Education. Given the limited intake and the institute’s standing as a constituent school of JNTUH, competition among TG ICET candidates for these seats is relatively high.
Ques. Can candidates from outside Telangana apply for JNTUH-SIT MCA?
Ans. TG ICET is open to candidates from across India, but a significant portion of seats under the TG ICET counselling at JNTUH-SIT are reserved for Telangana local candidates. Non-local candidates may be eligible for a limited share of seats as per Telangana state seat-sharing norms. Candidates from outside the state are advised to check the TG ICET seat matrix on tgicet.nic.in for the exact unreserved seat quota before applying.
Ques. What is the minimum eligibility to appear for TG ICET for MCA at JNTUH-SIT?
Ans. Candidates must hold any graduation degree from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks to appear in TG ICET for MCA admission. Reserved category candidates require a minimum of 45% aggregate. Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 or graduation level is preferred under the eligibility norms. Candidates qualifying TG ICET with a non-zero score can then participate in the centralised counselling for JNTUH-SIT MCA.
Ques. What scholarships are available for MCA students at JNTUH-SIT?
Ans. SC/ST and BC/EBC/Minority candidates with Telangana domicile can avail EPASS scholarship for full or partial fee reimbursement through the Telangana scholarship portal. Students with strong academic merit and family income below INR 8 Lakhs per year can apply for the Central Sector Scholarship providing INR 20,000 annually through the National Scholarship Portal. Given the already nominal fee of INR 57,000 for the full programme, scholarship support effectively makes the MCA near-free for eligible candidates.
