Department of Commerce, Delhi University Hostel

Department of Commerce does not maintain its own hostel on-site. Instead students must apply for hostel accommodation through the central University of Delhi system which allocates rooms based on merit and category-specific reservations

University-run hostels- such as P.G. Men’s Hostel, University Hostel for Women, Gwyer Hall, DS Kothari Hostel, and International Students House—provide twin-sharing or single-room options, equipped with mess facilities, 24×7 utilities, Wi‑Fi, security and recreational/common areas.

Eligibility for on-campus residence is competitive and merit-based, with priority given according to the department’s merit list and adherence to DU’s reservation policies (e.g., 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 3% PwD).

Students who are unable to secure University hostel placement typically opt for private PGs or rented accommodations in nearby areas such as South Campus, Mukherjee Nagar or Chhatra Marg.

Department of Commerce, Delhi University: 2 Answered Questions

Can i take admission for m.com in department of commerce without entrance exam or in dse in 2024

Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

The Department of Commerce (DU) intakes students for its MCom. course on the basis of CUET(PG) from academic year 2023-24 onwards. To get an admission, you’ll have to fulfill the eligibility criteria, and give the CUET (PG) for MCom. You can visit the official website of CUET for the detailed exam syllabus.

On the other hand, the Delhi School of Economics does not offer an MCom. degree. Instead, you can opt for the MA (Economics) program. The admissions for the same are done through merit (only for DU students) and CUET PG. Your score in the past qualifying exam will also be considered during the selection process.
