XLRI Delhi NCR EDP FAQs
How is the XLEAD certificate different from the XLRI PGDHRM degree, and does it carry the same weight with recruiters?
The XLEAD certificate is a professional development credential, not a degree. It does not replace the PGDHRM or the PGDM in terms of formal academic qualification. For working HR professionals already employed and seeking to move into senior roles within their current organisation or laterally, the XLEAD brand carries significant weight. Recruiters in the HR domain recognise it as a signal of structured upskilling from one of India’s leading management schools. If your goal is a domain shift or a campus placement-backed career change, the full-time PGDHRM is the stronger choice.
Can professionals from outside the HR domain enrol in the Digital Transformational Strategies programme?
Yes. Digital Transformational Strategies is not restricted to HR professionals. It is designed for mid-to-senior level managers across functions including operations, finance, marketing, and technology who want to lead digital transformation initiatives. Eligibility requires five-plus years of work experience in any business function. The two HR-track programmes (Digital HR Transformation and Advanced Strategic HR) specifically require HR domain experience and are better suited to HR generalists, HR business partners, and people analytics professionals.
Since most sessions are online, do participants based outside Delhi NCR face any disadvantage?
Not for the coursework. The 120-plus hours of live instruction are delivered online via Sunday sessions, making geography largely irrelevant. The two-day campus immersion at the Jhajjar campus does require physical presence, but it is a one-time requirement built into the schedule with advance notice. Participants from Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad regularly enrol. The only practical consideration for outstation participants is the cost and logistics of the campus visit, which typically spans a weekend.
How does XLRI assess participants across the 11 modules, and is there a minimum attendance requirement?
Assessment in XLRI executive development programmes typically combines live session participation, group assignments, case analyses, and a capstone project tied to real workplace challenges. A minimum attendance threshold of commonly 75% of live sessions is required for certificate eligibility, though exact thresholds are confirmed at the batch induction. Participants who miss sessions due to work commitments are generally provided access to recorded content, but graded participation cannot be made up retrospectively for attendance purposes.
What career transitions are most common for EDP alumni, and does XLRI provide any placement support?
Executive development programmes do not include campus placement drives, as participants are expected to remain employed throughout. The six career assistance sessions offered in the HR-track programmes cover resume positioning for senior roles, preparation for leadership-level HR interviews, and LinkedIn profiling for mid-career advancement. Common post-EDP transitions among XLRI executive education alumni include moves from HR generalist to HR business partner roles, from HRBP to Head of HR at mid-size companies, and from operational HR to people analytics or total rewards specialisations.
