The 50% AIQ seats are filled through MCC PG counselling; the remaining 50% through UP DGME PG counselling. Eligibility requires a completed MBBS with a one-year compulsory rotating internship.
DNB Admission
DNB seats at GIMS are available in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Paediatric Surgery. Admission is through the National Board of Examinations (NBE) centralised counselling based on NEET PG rank. The programme runs for 3 years with accreditation from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
Nursing and Paramedical Admissions
B.Sc Nursing and BMLT/BMRIT admissions are conducted through UP nursing entrance examinations and merit-based state counselling. Eligibility for all these programmes is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum 45% aggregate.
GIMS Placements and Career Outcomes
GIMS Greater Noida, as a government medical college, does not conduct traditional campus placements. Career outcomes for MBBS graduates are structured around mandatory government service, postgraduate medical training, and private practice.
| Career Stage / Pathway | Typical Compensation | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MBBS Internship (1 year) | INR 12,000 per month stipend | Mandatory rotating internship at GIMS Hospital |
| Rural Service Bond (2 years) | INR 20,000 per month (UP Government) | Mandatory for UP government quota MBBS graduates |
| NEET PG pathway (MD/MS) | INR 50,000 to 80,000 per month stipend during PG | Most graduates pursue this after the bond |
| Government Medical Officer | INR 70,000 to 90,000 per month | District/CHC/PHC posting in UP government service |
| Private Practice / Corporate Hospital | INR 80,000 to 1,50,000+ per month (post-specialisation) | After MD/MS completion |
The NEET PG pathway remains the most common career trajectory for GIMS graduates aiming for specialisation. GIMS’s own MD/MS seats provide an opportunity for in-house PG admissions, allowing strong NEET PG scorers to stay within the same institution for postgraduate training. Greater Noida’s proximity to Delhi-NCR also creates opportunities in corporate hospital chains post-PG.
GIMS Rankings
GIMS Greater Noida participates in the NIRF rankings and has been placed in the national band for medical institutions. As a college established in 2016, it is in a comparatively early stage relative to older UP government medical colleges.
| Ranking Body | Category | 2024 Rank |
|---|---|---|
| NIRF | Medical | 151 to 200 band |
GIMS is NMC-recognised and affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Uttar Pradesh’s dedicated medical university. As a newer government institution, it is building its research output and PG programme breadth, both of which drive NIRF Medical rankings heavily.
GIMS Scholarships
GIMS students are eligible for state and central government scholarship schemes. Given the already-low MBBS fees at a government medical college, scholarship impact is most significant for nursing and paramedical students.

|---|---|---|
| Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST) | SC/ST students with annual parental income below INR 2.5 Lakhs | Full tuition fee reimbursement and maintenance allowance |
| Central Sector Scholarship (NSP) | Above 80 percentile in Class 12, parental income below INR 4.5 Lakhs per annum | INR 1,000 per month for UG, INR 2,000 per month for PG |

Greater Noida’s planned infrastructure and metro connectivity to Delhi also make off-campus accommodation relatively accessible for students who prefer independent living.
GIMS vs LLRM Medical College Meerut vs GSVM Medical College Kanpur
All three are government medical colleges under Uttar Pradesh, filling MBBS seats through NEET UG and UP state quota counselling. An aspirant from UP choosing among state government medical colleges would compare these based on location, vintage, NEET cutoff difficulty, PG seat availability, and clinical exposure.
| Parameter | GIMS Greater Noida | LLRM Medical College, Meerut | GSVM Medical College, Kanpur |
|---|---|---|---|
| Established | 2016 | 1966 | 1950 |
| Affiliation | ABVMU, Lucknow | ABVMU, Lucknow | CSJMU, Kanpur |
| MBBS Seats | 100 | 150 | 200 |
| Location | Greater Noida (NCR) | Meerut (Western UP) | Kanpur (Central UP) |
| NEET State Quota Closing Rank (2025 Gen) | 9,360 | Lower rank required | Lower rank required |
| PG Seats (MD/MS) | 13 disciplines | Broader PG portfolio | Broader PG portfolio |
LLRM Meerut and GSVM Kanpur are older, more established institutions with larger clinical volumes and broader PG programmes built over decades. GIMS Greater Noida holds a location advantage due to its proximity to Delhi-NCR, which offers clinical elective and post-PG career opportunities in corporate hospital chains. The NEET cutoff at GIMS is typically higher than at Meerut and Kanpur, reflecting strong aspirant preference for NCR-based government medical colleges.
