Manipal Institute of Communication is the constituent part of Manipal University offers specialization in Mass Communication. It was well established in 1997 with a objective to create competent & skillful professionals for the media industry.
The student-strength has grown from time to time. Initially it has started with only 20 students; today school of communication has around 350 students

Besides the central library of Manipal University, the institute has its own separate library sprawled over an area of 3,000 square ft. & can house around 100 students. It has all latest version books & journals which comprises total of 9,000 books.
The separate accommodations are available for the international students with well furnished rooms.
The Various games in which students take participation are Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, & Athletics. For practicing all these games college has provided separate playground facility to the boys & girls.
Events & Festivals
The students of all the campuses take full participation in the events & fests organized by the University. Some events are:
Utsav Event - It is a one week long program organized every year where students can show up their talents by participating in numerous events like classical Instrumental, Cultural Parade, Light Music, Creative writing, Quiz, Cartooning, Painting, Street play, Western dance, Clay Modeling & Fashion show.
Mega Event - It is basically the event where celebrities perform or you can say show their live performance.
Gunjan - It is a forum mainly devoted to Indian culture & music drifted with the purpose of bringing together music buffs & admirers on a communal platform to adore and appreciate music frequently. It endorses the following varieties of Indian Music:
