AI-Generated Summary based on 1004 Reviews

Admission to the B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) program at Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) is primarily based on JEE Main rank, followed by AKTU counselling through UPTAC. Eligibility criteria include passing the 12th-grade exam with a minimum of 60% in the PCM stream. Alternatively, direct admission is possible based on board exam scores, typically requiring a minimum of 85% for top branches like CSE, though 45% suffices for other branches.

The JEE Main rank cutoffs for admission in the CSE branch typically range from 50,000 to 3,50,000, while lower-ranked branches can extend to 4-5 lakh ranks. Reserved categories benefit from additional considerations during the counselling process. Prospective students can apply online via NIET's website or initiate the process on-site. The counselling process begins around July and August, and direct admissions are open from April to September. Some students may avail FW (Fee Waiver) seats reducing their financial burden, though not available for direct admission or general category students.

Reservation, including home state quota, provides certain admissions benefits. The admission process can be time-consuming, with physical reporting requiring full documentation. Management quota admissions are available but less preferred due to financial implications. Overall, NIET is recognized for its autonomy and placement records, making it a sought-after choice among Greater Noida educational institutions.

NIET Noida: 2 Answered Questions

Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology NIET How good is this college for CS IT? Should one take admission in it?

CalmCoyote

Hey there! I'm in my fourth year of CSE at NIET, so I can share my thoughts. I'd say NIET is a decent college for CS and IT. Like most colleges, some teachers are really good, while others might not meet your expectations. But honestly, don't just focus on the academics when judging a college.

NIET is putting in a lot of effort to help students get placed by offering extra classes that teach skills beyond the usual curriculum. They've recently teamed up with Pyramid Finishing School, which is all about getting students ready for jobs. They hold sessions on things like resume writing, body language, grooming, and group discussions. You get to practice speaking in front of everyone, which is pretty cool. From what I've seen, not many other colleges in Greater Noida are offering such extra classes, especially on weekends.

In my opinion, NIET is a solid choice for CS and IT in Greater Noida. And just a side note, the student crowd here isn't too bad either!

What is the eligibility criteria to take admission in NIET, Greater Noida? Is their any direct admission based on class 12th marks?

Ayush VermaB.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (2022)

Yes, Amity, NIET, Galgotia, and other colleges may admit the students based on their 12th percentage only if you have a percentage of 75 or above.

Instead of this, you can also apply for management quota admission to some of the higher-ranked universities. By making a donation, you can get admission to the top colleges such as VIT, SRM, or any private college in the south, as well as colleges in Pune and overall.

Alternatively, you must appear in UPSEE and obtain a good score and a good rank in order to be considered for a seat in one of AKTU’s good colleges.

NIET requires students who have a rank from 1-30 thousand or the students can apply for direct admission based on their 12th percentage.
