Ectomycorrhizae and Endomycorrhizae are two types of mycorrhizae fungi, that form a symbolic relationship with roots and plants. All the plants depend on Ectomycorrhizae and Endomycorrhizae as they provide water and minerals to the plants. They take sugar from the plants through the process of photosynthesis. Along with water and minerals, Ectomycorrhizae and Endomycorrhizae also supply phosphorus to the plants. Ectomycorrhizae do not penetrate deeper into the cortical cells. However, Endomycorrhizae penetrates deeper into the plants.
