Gujarat Board Class X Result Previous Year Statistics
GSEB SSC consistently draws more than 7 lakh students every year. Looking at past trends gives you a realistic idea of what to expect from the 2027 cycle. The overall pass percentage has moved between approximately 67% and 82% in recent years, with girls outperforming boys by 3–5 percentage points every single year.
| Year | Candidates Appeared (approx.) | Overall Pass % (approx.) | Boys’ Pass % (approx.) | Girls’ Pass % (approx.) | Result Declaration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | To be updated | To be updated | To be updated | To be updated | May–June 2026 |
| 2025 | ~7.5 lakh | ~82% | ~80% | ~84% | May 2025 |
| 2024 | ~7.8 lakh | ~81% | ~78.5% | ~83.5% | May 2024 |
| 2023 | ~7.6 lakh | ~80% | ~77.5% | ~82.5% | May 2023 |
| 2022 | ~7.3 lakh | ~67% | ~65% | ~69% | June 2022 |
The 2022 dip to roughly 67% happened because GSEB returned to full offline exams after two COVID-affected years (2020 and 2021), when results were largely based on internal marks and alternate assessments. Once students had to sit the full paper-based exam again in 2022, the pass rate corrected downward. Since 2023, the pass percentage has steadily recovered — reaching about 80% in 2023 and climbing to around 82% in 2025. If the trend holds, the 2027 cycle is likely to produce a pass percentage in the 80–84% range.
| Year | Girls’ Pass % (approx.) | Boys’ Pass % (approx.) | Gender Gap (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | ~84% | ~80% | ~4 percentage points |
| 2024 | ~83.5% | ~78.5% | ~5 percentage points |
| 2023 | ~82.5% | ~77.5% | ~5 percentage points |
| 2022 | ~69% | ~65% | ~4 percentage points |
The consistent 4–5 point lead held by girls is a pattern that has held across all recent years, mirroring the trend seen in most state board exams across India. Urban centres — particularly Ahmedabad, Surat, and Gandhinagar — tend to post higher pass percentages than remote or tribal districts. GSEB has been running support programmes in lower-performing districts to narrow this regional gap over time.
Ques. What was the approximate GSEB SSC overall pass percentage in 2024?
Ans. The overall pass percentage for GSEB SSC 2024 was approximately 81%. Girls outperformed boys by about 5 percentage points. The result was declared in May 2024. For the exact official figure, refer to the GSEB official press release on gseb.org.
Ques. Why did the GSEB SSC pass percentage drop sharply in 2022?
Ans. 2022 was the first year GSEB conducted a full offline written exam after two COVID-affected sessions (2020 and 2021), when students were assessed through internal marks and alternate methods. The shift back to the standard pen-and-paper format led to a correction in pass percentages. Since 2023, results have stabilised and recovered to pre-COVID levels.
How to Check Gujarat Board (GSEB) SSC Result 2027?
You can check the GSEB SSC 2027 result through three methods: online on gseb.org, through DigiLocker, or via SMS. The online method is the fastest and gives you a downloadable PDF. Keep your seat number handy before you begin — that is the only detail you need for all three methods.
Method 1: Online on gseb.org (Step-by-Step)
- Open your browser and go to gseb.org.
- Look for the SSC (Class X) Result 2027 link on the homepage — it goes live only after GSEB declares the result.
- Enter your Seat Number in the field shown.
- Click Submit or Get Result.
- Your result appears on screen — check your marks, percentage, and Pass/Fail status subject by subject.
- Click Download or Print to save a copy for your records.
Method 2: DigiLocker (Digital Marksheet)
- Go to digilocker.gov.in or open the DigiLocker app on your phone.
- Log in with your mobile number or Aadhaar-linked credentials.
- Search for GSEB under the Education section.
- Enter your seat number and date of birth when prompted.
- Your Class X marksheet appears once GSEB uploads it — usually within a day or two of the main result declaration.
The DigiLocker marksheet is officially valid for college admissions and scholarship applications. You do not need a physical copy in most situations.
Method 3: SMS
GSEB activates an SMS result service on the day of declaration. You SMS your seat number to the number provided on gseb.org. The format and the SMS number are published alongside the result notification — check gseb.org on result day for the exact details. You get a short reply with your marks total and Pass/Fail status.
Ques. Do I need anything apart from my seat number to check the GSEB SSC 2027 result?
Ans. Usually, your seat number alone is enough on gseb.org. Some portals also ask for your date of birth as a secondary verification step. Keep both handy on result day to avoid delays, especially if the site is under heavy traffic.
Ques. Can I check the GSEB SSC result on my mobile phone?
Ans. Yes. Visit gseb.org on your phone’s browser and check the result there. The DigiLocker app (available on Android and iOS) is another reliable option — it usually handles result-day traffic better than the main website. SMS-based checking also works independently of internet connectivity.
Gujarat Board SSC Marksheet 2027: What It Contains
The GSEB SSC marksheet is the official document that certifies your Class X performance. The result you check online at gseb.org on declaration day is a provisional scorecard. Your school distributes the original printed marksheet a few weeks after the result, once GSEB sends the physical copies to schools. Here is everything your marksheet will show:
| Detail on Marksheet | Description |
|---|---|
| Student’s Name | As registered with GSEB at the time of enrolment |
| Seat Number | Unique exam roll number assigned by GSEB for the 2027 examination |
| School Name and Code | The school where you appeared for the exam |
| Date of Birth | As per school records submitted to GSEB |
| Father’s Name / Mother’s Name | As registered |
| Subject-wise Marks | Theory marks and practical marks listed separately for each subject |
| Total Marks Obtained | Sum of all subject marks out of 600 |
| Percentage | Total marks converted to a percentage out of 600 |
| Grade and Grade Points | Letter grade (A1 to F) and corresponding grade point for each subject |
| Result Status | Pass / Compartment / Fail / Withheld |
| GSEB Official Seal and Signature | Verification mark confirming the document’s authenticity |
Spotted an error? If your marksheet shows a wrong name, date of birth, or subject marks, report it to your school immediately. Your school contacts the GSEB district office on your behalf and submits a correction request. GSEB announces a specific correction window after the result — requests submitted after that window take much longer and may not be resolved before the next academic session. Act fast.
Keep your marksheet safe. You will need it for Class XI admission, government scholarship applications, and as a permanent educational document throughout your career. Your DigiLocker account stores a certified digital copy that you can access anytime at no cost — link your account to GSEB after the result to ensure the document is always available.
Gujarat Board Class X Passing Marks 2027
To pass the Gujarat Board Class X exam, you need to clear each subject separately. There is no overall aggregate condition — scoring a high total does not save you if you score below 33 in even one subject. Each subject is judged on its own. Here is the full passing criteria:
| Component | Minimum Marks Required |
|---|---|
| Theory-only subjects (per subject) | 33 out of 100 |
| Subjects with theory + practical | Combined minimum 33 marks; must pass both components separately |
| Overall condition | 33 or more in every individual subject — no aggregate minimum |
| Grace marks | Available — see Grace Marks section below |
For subjects that include a practical component — Science being the main one — you must pass both the theory and the practical separately. A strong practical score cannot compensate for a failing theory mark, and vice versa. Both must be at or above the minimum.
| Result Status | Condition |
|---|---|
| Pass | 33 or more in every subject |
| Compartment | Failed in exactly 1 or 2 subjects — eligible for the Compartment exam |
| Fail | Failed in 3 or more subjects — must repeat the full exam in the next cycle |
| Withheld | Result held by GSEB due to malpractice, incomplete documentation, or fee default |
Ques. What is the passing mark for GSEB SSC 2027?
Ans. You need at least 33 marks out of 100 in each subject to pass the Gujarat Board Class X exam. This applies subject by subject — clearing 33 in five subjects but scoring 30 in one still results in a Compartment status for that subject. For subjects with a practical component, you also need to clear the practical separately.
Ques. If I fail in two subjects, do I have to repeat the whole exam?
Ans. No. If you fail in 1 or 2 subjects, you appear only for those subjects in the Compartment exam — your passing marks from the main exam in other subjects are carried forward. You do not need to retake subjects you already cleared. If you fail in 3 or more subjects, you have to repeat the full exam in the next cycle.
GSEB SSC Grading System 2027
GSEB uses a letter grade system tied to your marks in each subject. The grade on your marksheet lets colleges and employers quickly understand your performance level without calculating percentages themselves. Here is the full grading scale for Gujarat Board Class X:
| Marks Percentage (per subject) | Grade | Grade Point | Performance Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| 91–100% | A1 | 9 | Outstanding |
| 81–90% | A2 | 8 | Excellent |
| 71–80% | B1 | 7 | Very Good |
| 61–70% | B2 | 6 | Good |
| 51–60% | C1 | 5 | Satisfactory |
| 41–50% | C2 | 4 | Acceptable |
| 33–40% | D | 3 | Pass |
| Below 33% | F | 0 | Fail |
Your Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is the average of grade points across all subjects. To get an approximate percentage from CGPA, multiply it by 9.5 — this is the widely used conversion formula for board results, though GSEB may specify its own conversion method in the official marksheet instructions.
Grade D (33–40%) is a passing grade, but many competitive colleges and state scholarship schemes set their own higher cut-offs. If you are targeting a good Science stream school in Gujarat, or a government merit scholarship, aiming for Grade B1 (71–80%) or above will put you in a stronger position during admissions.
Grace Marks Policy — Gujarat Board SSC 2027
GSEB has a grace marks provision that can help you pass a subject if you miss the cut-off by a small margin. Grace marks are applied by GSEB automatically during result processing — you do not need to apply for them. GSEB decides who gets grace marks and how many, based on its internal rules for the year. Here is how the policy generally works:
| Situation | Grace Marks Provision |
|---|---|
| Failing one subject by a small margin | Up to 5 grace marks may be added to bring you to the passing threshold |
| Failing two subjects by a small margin | Grace marks may apply to both subjects, subject to GSEB’s annual rule |
| Maximum grace marks per subject | Up to 5 marks (standard provision — exact limit confirmed in the official result notification) |
| How to get grace marks | GSEB applies them automatically — you do not submit any application |
| Can you request more grace marks? | No — once the result is declared, the grace marks decision is final |
If your result shows Compartment or Fail even after GSEB processes the grace marks, it means the provision did not bring you above the passing threshold. You cannot request additional grace marks after declaration. The exact grace marks rules for 2027 will be confirmed in the official GSEB result notification — the figures above reflect the standard practice followed in recent years.
What to Do After Gujarat Board Class X Result 2027?
Once your GSEB SSC 2027 result is in hand, your next immediate step is Class XI admission. Gujarat’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) schools offer three streams — Science, Commerce, and Arts. Your marks and the school’s cut-off determine which stream and school you get into. Here is a clear path forward:
Step 1: Choose Your Stream
| Stream | Best If You Scored Well In | Where It Leads |
|---|---|---|
| Science | Mathematics, Science & Technology | Engineering (JEE), Medicine (NEET), Research, Technology careers |
| Commerce | Mathematics, Social Science | CA, MBA, Banking, Finance, Economics, Business |
| Arts / Humanities | Languages, Social Science | Law, Journalism, Teaching, Government Services, Fine Arts |
Step 2: Keep Your Documents Ready
Most Gujarat schools and the state HSC admission process ask for these documents:
- Original GSEB SSC marksheet (collected from your school after declaration)
- School Leaving Certificate (Transfer Certificate)
- Aadhaar card or other government-issued photo ID
- Passport-size photographs
- Caste certificate (if applying under a reserved category)
- Income certificate (for scholarship and fee concession applications)
Step 3: Look Into Scholarship Options
The Government of Gujarat offers merit-based and means-tested scholarships for students who clear SSC. The Post-Matric Scholarship scheme (for SC/ST/OBC students) and the state’s educational assistance funds for economically weaker sections are worth applying for. Check the Gujarat Social Justice and Empowerment Department portal and the Tribal Development Department site for the latest scholarship criteria once your result is declared.
If You Got a Compartment or Fail
If you failed in 1 or 2 subjects, you appear for the Compartment exam in July 2027. Clearing it gives you the full SSC certificate, and you can join the Class XI July–August admission cycle. If you failed in 3 or more subjects, use the intervening months to strengthen your weaker areas and prepare for the full exam in 2028.
Gujarat Board SSC Compartment / Supplementary Exam 2027
If you fail in 1 or 2 subjects in the GSEB SSC 2027 main exam, GSEB gives you a second chance through the Compartment (or Supplementary) exam. You appear only for the subjects you failed — marks from subjects you passed in the main exam carry forward as-is. Here is everything you need to know:
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Who Can Apply | Students who failed in 1 or 2 subjects in the GSEB SSC 2027 main exam |
| Subjects Covered | Only the specific subjects in which you failed — not all six |
| Expected Exam Date | July 2027 (tentative) |
| Expected Result Date | August 2027 (tentative) |
| How to Apply | Through your school — the school submits the Compartment application to GSEB on your behalf |
| Application Deadline | Approximately 15 days after the main result (GSEB will announce the exact deadline) |
| Exam Fee | As notified by GSEB at the time of Compartment registration |
| Admit Card for Compartment | Available from your school or gseb.org before the Compartment exam |
If you clear the Compartment exam, GSEB issues a consolidated marksheet that combines your main exam marks (for subjects you passed) and your Compartment marks (for subjects you cleared in the second attempt). This consolidated marksheet has the same validity as the main exam marksheet for all purposes — college admissions, scholarships, and official records.
Do not miss the application deadline after the main result. Your school will notify you, but it is a good idea to follow up directly with your school principal or the GSEB district office to confirm your application has been submitted.
Ques. What happens if I also fail the Compartment exam?
Ans. If you do not clear the subject(s) in the Compartment exam, you will need to appear for the full Gujarat Board SSC exam in the next cycle (2028). GSEB does not offer a second Compartment attempt in the same year. Use the time between the Compartment result and the next cycle to work on the subjects you are weak in — targeted practice on past papers and conceptual clarity in those subjects makes a big difference.
Ques. Can I join Class XI while waiting for my Compartment result?
Ans. No. Class XI admission in Gujarat requires a full passing SSC certificate. You can apply only after your Compartment result confirms you have cleared all subjects. Since Compartment results come out in August, you join the July–August admission cycle — which is the same window used by students from other boards, so you will not miss the academic year.
Gujarat Board SSC Revaluation and Re-checking 2027
If you feel your marks do not reflect your actual performance, GSEB gives you three post-result options: re-totaling, photocopy of your answer sheet, and revaluation. Each has a fee and a set timeline. GSEB usually gives only 15–20 days from result declaration to submit these requests — act quickly after checking your result.
| Option | What It Does | Time Taken (approx.) | Who Handles It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Re-totaling | Checks if all marks in your answer sheet are correctly totaled and no answer is left unchecked | 2–4 weeks | GSEB |
| Photocopy of Answer Sheet | Provides a scanned copy of your evaluated answer sheet so you can see how marks were awarded | 2–4 weeks | GSEB |
| Revaluation | Your answer sheet is re-evaluated by a different examiner — marks may go up or down | 4–6 weeks | GSEB |
All requests go through your school — submit them to your school principal within the GSEB-notified window. Your school forwards the applications to the GSEB district office. The exact fee for each option will be announced alongside the 2027 result notification.
Practical tips before you apply:
- Start with re-totaling — it is the quickest and cheapest option and catches simple addition or skipped-answer errors.
- Request a photocopy of your answer sheet before applying for revaluation — reviewing it helps you judge whether the marking was genuinely unfair.
- Revaluation is not risk-free — the new examiner’s marks replace the original ones, even if they are lower. Apply only if you are confident your answers deserved more marks.
- Revised marks from revaluation are communicated through your school — there is no online tracking portal, so check with your school regularly after submitting.
Ques. Can revaluation reduce my marks in the GSEB SSC exam?
Ans. Yes. In revaluation, a second examiner evaluates your answer sheet from scratch. If that examiner awards fewer marks, your score goes down — GSEB’s policy is that the new marks replace the original. This is why reviewing a photocopy of your answer sheet first is strongly recommended. If the marking looks genuinely unfair after reviewing it, proceed with revaluation; otherwise, re-totaling is the safer choice.
Ques. How long does GSEB take to process revaluation results?
Ans. GSEB typically takes 4–6 weeks to process revaluation results. Revised marks are communicated through your school. Since there is no online tracking portal for revaluation status, follow up with your school about 4 weeks after you submit the application.
FAQs
Ques. How do I check the GSEB Class X Result 2027 online?
Ans. Go to gseb.org on the day the result is declared. Click the SSC Result 2027 link on the homepage, enter your seat number, and your result will appear. You can download or print it directly from the portal.
Ques. What are the passing marks for Gujarat Board Class X 2027?
Ans. You need at least 33 out of 100 in each subject to pass. Scoring above 33 in five subjects but below in one still results in a Compartment status for that subject. There is no overall aggregate minimum — each subject is judged individually.
Ques. Is the DigiLocker marksheet valid for college admissions after GSEB SSC 2027?
Ans. Yes. The GSEB SSC marksheet available on DigiLocker is officially valid for college admissions, scholarship applications, and all official purposes across India. You do not need a physical copy in most situations. Access it at digilocker.gov.in using your mobile number or Aadhaar-linked credentials.
Ques. What if there is an error in my GSEB SSC marksheet?
Ans. Report it to your school immediately. Errors in name, date of birth, or marks need to be corrected within the correction window GSEB announces after the result. Your school submits the correction request to the GSEB district office. Requests made after that window take much longer, so act the same day you spot the error.
Ques. Can I check the GSEB SSC result through SMS?
Ans. Yes. GSEB activates an SMS result service on result day. The number to SMS and the exact format are published on gseb.org alongside the result notification. You send your seat number to that number and get a reply showing your total marks and Pass/Fail status.
Ques. How long after the exam does GSEB declare the Class X result?
Ans. GSEB typically declares the Class X result about 8–10 weeks after the written exam ends in March. Based on the past few years, results have come out in May or June. For the 2027 cycle, the result is expected in May–June 2027.
Ques. What percentage do I need to get a state scholarship after GSEB SSC 2027?
Ans. It depends on the scheme. State merit scholarships usually require 60% or above (Grade B2 or better). The Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC students has separate income and category criteria. Check the Gujarat Social Justice and Empowerment Department portal for the latest eligibility details once your result is declared.
Ques. What happens if the GSEB website is down on result day?
Ans. Heavy traffic often slows down gseb.org on result day. If the site is slow or temporarily unavailable, try again after a short wait. DigiLocker is a reliable alternative — it usually handles result-day traffic better than the main portal. The SMS service also works independently of the website and is a useful backup if internet access is limited.
Ques. Which stream should I choose after GSEB SSC 2027?
Ans. Your stream choice should match your subject strengths and long-term goals, not just your marks. Science works well if you are strong in Maths and Science and are considering engineering or medicine. Commerce suits students drawn to finance, business, or accounting. Arts / Humanities is a great fit if you are interested in languages, social sciences, law, or government services. Marks matter for admission cut-offs, but your genuine interest in the subjects is what sustains performance in Class XI and XII.
Ques. Can a student outside Gujarat appear for GSEB SSC?
Ans. GSEB SSC is open to students enrolled in GSEB-affiliated schools in Gujarat. Students in Gujarat studying under CBSE or ICSE appear under their respective boards. Private candidates — students who previously failed and want to reappear — can also register under GSEB as per its private candidate rules. Contact GSEB directly through gseb.org for the latest guidelines on private candidate registration.
Ques. What is the difference between re-totaling and revaluation in GSEB SSC?
Ans. Re-totaling checks whether all marks in your answer sheet are correctly counted and added — it does not re-examine whether the examiner awarded the right marks for your answers. Revaluation has a second examiner evaluate your answers from scratch and assign new marks, which can go higher or lower. Re-totaling is faster, cheaper, and risk-free. Revaluation is more thorough but carries the risk of your marks going down. Start with re-totaling; escalate to revaluation only if you have reviewed your answer sheet photocopy and believe the original marking was genuinely wrong.
