The next NIOS public exam is the October-November 2026 session. This is the second exam block of the year and is open to fresh learners, students carrying SYC subjects, and students who want an improvement attempt.
NIOS opened the exam fee registration for this session on May 21, 2026 at sdmis.nios.ac.in. The normal fee window ran till June 20, 2026, followed by late fee slabs and a consolidated late fee period in early July 2026.

NIOS TMA 2026
TMA stands for Tutor Marked Assignment. It is one of the easiest ways to add marks to your NIOS 2026 result, and many students still skip it.

If you failed Class 10 or Class 12 from CBSE, ICSE, or a state board, you do not have to repeat every subject in NIOS. You can transfer the subjects you already passed.

NIOS Improvement Exam
If you passed but scored low, you can take an improvement exam. You apply the same way you applied for the original exam and pay the exam fee again.
- You can use the improvement facility once during your admission validity, which is 5 years.
- The better of the two scores appears on your final marksheet.
- For a subject with a practical, you must reappear in both theory and practical.
