Scientific Investigation can be described as the procedure which involves questioning accompanied by various other steps to get a solution to a query. Scientific Investigation offers an objective and standardized approach for conducting experiments. A scientific investigation comprises various procedures, which are known as the set of procedures necessary to be followed for proper scientific investigation. This step can also be called the step of inspection, where the person conducting the investigation makes various queries on different theories or elements in the surrounding area.

  • Propose Questions

Following the process of making observations, the step of making questions on the observation comes up. The objective of proposing a question is to make sure that every detail is known and a query existing can be solved quickly. The question should refer to the theory or the topic on which the investigation is being conducted.

  • Formation of a Hypothesis

This step involves properly explaining the query that is put up. It is considered the most significant part of the scientific investigation. The hypothesis may result from a phenomenon, which may have caused various effects on the environment or surroundings, leading to the rise of the phenomenon.

  • Bringing out conclusion 

The conclusion includes the information drawn out or basically the changes required. It required that the conclusion should be a proper scientific or a mathematical statement which is brought out at the end of the investigation or experiments.

  • Communication of the information from the investigation

The step involves communication as it aids in knowing what others can suggest as a hypothesis. Aiding in increases the knowledge, communication also helps in further studies as it comes as a tool.

  • Construction of Hypothesis: The hypothesis that has been used here is that the bean plant can grow anywhere if scientific methods are used.
  • Executing the Hypothesis and Collection of Data: Take four bean plants and plant them in identical pots in the same soil. Two pots are placed inside and the other two are placed outside in open. All the conditions for the four pots are the same such as the amount of exposure to sunlight, amount of water, etc. All four plants are measured at the end of four weeks.
  • Analyzing the Data: The average height of plants should be considered from both places to conclude and determine which environment is more suitable for growing the bean plants.
  • Conclusion: The conclusion will be drawn after analyzing the data collected during the investigation.
  • Result: The concluded results can be depicted in a tabular format.
