Programs, Campus, and Residence

  • The university offers and array of degree and non-degree programs to a total of nearly 38,000 students. More than 200 degree programs are available to undergraduates and graduates in Arts, Science, Education, Law, Theology and more.
  • University of Bonn is internationally recognized for its research-based programs. It maintains global partnership with 80 universities.
  • Campus housing is administered by a separate entity: Studierendenwerk Bonn (Student Service Agency), which assists students with cheap accommodation in its 40 residence halls. However, housing availability in these dorms are limited.
  • All international students are requested to look for housing facilities well in advance as not having arranged the same might cause unnecessary hindrance upon arrival into Germany.

University of Bonn Admissions

UG Application Deadlines: 15 July (winter), 15 January (summer) There are varying dates and requirements for graduate programs. Candidates are advised to browse specific departments on the university’s official website to know the same.

Requirements for International Students

  • Official Transcripts in English, German, or French.
  • **Proof of German Language Proficiency: TestDaF (minimum result of TDN 4 in all sections); DSH (pass German Language Proficiency Test for admission to higher education)
  • Copy of Passport

  • Adequate Financial Security Statement

Note: **All candidates that do not belong from EU countries need to provide required proficiency level in German language. Candidates who fail to do so can take up German language crash course offered by the University of Bonn. Some programs offered at the University of Bonn are designed specifically for international students where the mode of instruction is solely English. No German language proficiency is required to pursue such programs. ##Public Health Insurance is available at 90 EUR in Germany.
