University of Siegen International Students Admission

Students from more than 100 countries apply to the University of Siegen. All the faculties accept international student applications. If you are not sure about the course you want to study then the institution also provides you with Study Interest Test. The University website also provides the English language for international applicant's ease.

There is a list of undergraduate and graduate courses that can be studied by foreign students. A student while applying shall mandatorily know the German language. Apart from all other requirements, a student shall also have a legal passport and the information of its financial support information.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Pre-registration to the University of Siegen, by filling in the form on the website.
  • An application for enrolment.
  • Copy of certified certificate of higher education completed or the last education taken.
  • German language proficiency certificate. For any English language course a student takes, the student must qualify for the English language proficiency test.

Visa Process for International Students

The visa process for the University is very different for EU nationals and non-EU nationals. To study in the institution you must apply to the National Visa (D-Visa). The requirements to get a visa are as follows-

  • A valid passport.
  • Proof of the activity/reason for going to Germany.
  • Health insurance / financial resources for the stay.
  • Accommodation information for the whole stay.
  • Marriage and birth certificates of close relatives.
  • The process is to be started only after the invitation letter is issued.
  • The visa is only issued after the applicant has cleared the interview with the embassy.

Admission Requirements: More specifically you shall have fulfilled all the prerequisites before getting admitted to the University.

  • A declaration of financial statements, since the average living cost in the University per month, amounts to EUR 750.
  • An electronically filled in application form by the applicant.
  • Compulsory provides certified copies of secondary and high school certificates.
  • The copy of the certificate of the nationality (passport)
  • A certificate of German language proficiency. However, if you do not qualify for the exam or have not given it you may take the German language course at the University of Siegen.
  • A resume
  • All the documents shall be submitted translated in German language and duly certified by the translator.

There are many graduate courses available for foreign nationals. The graduate course applications are to be submitted through the online portal of University. The application fee is § 10 for the graduate and doctoral programs. You can get admission in any of those with the required qualifications. They are:
