Programs, Campus, and Residence

  • The University of Hohenheim has faculties in three broad areas of study: Agricultural Sciences; Natural Sciences; and Business, Economics, & Social Sciences.
  • Traditionally renowned for its innovation and leadership in agricultural and natural sciences, the University of Hohenheim has now also become a prioritized destination for students wishing to pursue business & social sciences. More than 50% of its student body is associated with the same.
  • Numerous halls of residences operated by the Student Services Tübingen-Hohenheim can be availed by international students. Candidates need to apply for housing by the application deadlines for a better chance of getting a room.

University of Hohenheim Admissions

Application Deadlines: Winter Semester- 15 July

30 September- For Agricultural Biology, Agricultural Sciences and Biobased Products and Bioenergy

Summer Semester- 15 January (Studienkolleg-preparatory course)

31 March- Admission to first semester Agricultural Sciences (B.Sc.) or in a higher subject-related semester.

Note: There are varying deadlines and requirements for master’s programs at the University of Hohenheim and the above mentioned deadlines may not apply to the same.

Admission Requirements

  • High School Leaving Certificate; Bachelor’s Degree (master’s program)
  • Apply via Uni-assist for preliminary document verification
  • Application fee (€ 75 for first choice of program, € 30 for every additional desired course)
  • Proof of Sufficient German Proficiency: TestDaF (level 4 in all sections), DSH- 2; or level B2 German Certificate for admission into a preparatory course (Studienkolleg)
  • Orientation Test
  • Apply via University Online Application after verification of documents
  • Additional Requirements: Passport Photo & Copy; Proof of Health Insurance; Proof of financial resources.

Admission requirements for master’s program vary depending on the degree course chosen.

University of Hohenheim Tuition & Other Costs

Since winter semester 2017-2018, the University of Hoheheim charges its international students from non-EU/EEA countries a tuition fee of 1,500 EUR per semester. Additionally, all the students are required to pay a semester fee of approximately 185 EUR twice every year. The cost of living in Hohenheim is estimated to be € 749 per month. Scholarships & Financial Aid for International Students

  • Germany Scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium) is an award of 300 EUR available to nearly 150 outstanding recipients for a duration of 6 months. The funding is procured by through contribution of the federal government and third-party donors.

  • The University of Hohenheim awards its excellent students with various number of scholarships and grantssponsored by different parties.

  • There are various department and course-specific scholarship programs that international students are eligible for.

  • Students can finance a portion of their study at University of Hohenheim by taking up student jobs.
