Tip for Indian Students: The highest-value saving lever for the Winter 2027/28 intake is the Werkstudent pathway. A 20-hour-per-week role at EUR 15/hour across 10 term months plus 40-hour weeks across 2 break months yields roughly EUR 14,400 gross (INR 13.68 Lakhs) per year, essentially covering living costs entirely from Year 1 onward.
A two-year Master’s at the University of Augsburg costs roughly INR 58 Lakhs total for a common CS track, versus a median entry-level salary of EUR 52,000-58,000 gross (INR 49.40 to 55.10 Lakhs) for CS graduates in the Munich/Augsburg tech corridor.
The University of Augsburg fees for the Winter 2027/28 intake sit at EUR 17,850 per year (INR 16.96 Lakhs) for a common CS Master, taking two-year total spend to about INR 58 Lakhs including living, insurance, and visa. A successful DAAD or Deutschlandstipendium application plus Werkstudent income during studies cuts net outflow to roughly INR 30-35 Lakhs, an EMI of INR 54,000 per month against a Munich-region CS starting salary of INR 52 Lakhs gross. I love the curriculum at Augsburg. I'm doing hands-on work that I'd be going in my career. Our liberal arts education curriculum is also wonderful. Since we're an ELCA school we take 2 religion courses but religion isn't forced into anyone. The classes are intro level which I think is perfect because then everyone has a base understanding of the three major faiths.
So we have tuition, housing, food plan, our green fee which is helping the university buy every student a metro transit pass, student activity fee, newspaper fee, technology fee and then this semester a short term study abroad trip for this semester.
