All bachelor’s programs at Luebeck are taught in German. Indian students must pass a C1 German test before applying. Undergraduate tuition base is €0 (₹0), with the same semester fee of about €300 (₹32,700) as at the master’s level.

Indian applicants without German proficiency should enrol in a Studienkolleg or a Goethe-Institut intensive course before applying to any bachelor’s programme.

Indian applicants without a German school leaving certificate route their application through uni-assist, the shared service that validates foreign qualifications for German public universities. Non-EU students also need APS (Academic Evaluation Centre) verification of Indian degrees from the New Delhi office before applying for a visa.

Medicine, Molecular Life Science, Psychology, Infection Biology, and Medical Engineering reserve 5% to 8% of seats for non-EU applicants. Germany Student Visa for University of Luebeck Applicants

Indian students with a Luebeck admission letter apply for a National Visa (Type D) for studies. Since January 2025, applications route through the Consular Services Portal at digital.diplo.de. An in-person biometric appointment follows at the Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, or Kolkata consulate.

Financial proof is a blocked account (Sperrkonto) of €11,904 (₹12.98 Lakh) for one year, released as €992 (₹1.08 Lakh) per month after arrival. Fintiba, Expatrio, and Coracle are widely used providers. Total processing runs 6 to 12 weeks in peak season, so apply as soon as the Zulassung arrives.

2026 update: The APS certificate is now mandatory for every Indian Bachelor’s and Master’s visa applicant. Consulates reject files without an APS certificate.
