Favorite aspects of this course: - Srikanth Varma Chekuri, the instructor, is an excellent instructor. He is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He teaches from different perspectives (theoretical and applied) and tries to give you the intuition behind mathematical concepts and algorithms. Most importantly, he teaches you how to learn. He shows you how to read complex mathematical concepts, how to approach difficult problems, how to find resources online if you get stuck and how to test and debug your own code. You will see this style of instruction more often in the recorded live sessions. - Unlike many internet courses, they do try their best to answer any doubts that you have about the content and assignments. They even offered to call me many times to help me with some questions. Since I am located in the United States, I preferred to communicate via email because of the time difference. They even reached out to me in November to see if I needed any support or help to finish the course. Each video lecture has a question section with a ranking feature, make sure you check those before you contact them in case someone had asked the same question before. - The assignments are challenging and they prepare you for the real world. Many online courses are very easy and give you the false impression you are learning a lot. Applied roots assignments are well crafted and use real-world data (dirty). Since I was a beginner, it will take me longer than I expected to finish the assignment, but after finishing I could notice how much I learned in the process of completing them. Things I should have done better: -If you get stuck, reach out to them as many times as you need. They will help you. - In the first video of the course, they give you many tips about how to approach the course, rewatch it if you are getting stuck. They suggest doing breadth-first before getting too deep into the topics. When you are a beginner is hard to know when to stop while learning about a topic. Sometimes, I went too deep into some topics, other times I was able to identify what was needed. The more you learn about the topics, the easier it will be for you to identify how deep you need to go into the topic. - Give equal importance to the assignments and the lectures. For me, they are like two different components, the lecture requires you to understand the math and concepts, the assignments you need to implement algorithms and models. If you are new to programming, expect to invest extra time improving your coding skills.

there course is very discouraging. I have completed the course around 85% and left it. Even coursera completion rate is higher than them. They made the assignments extremely tough. They say logic behind this is that user will learn from it but in my opinion people are defeating from it and forced to leave the course incomplate. Earlier, people have to finish fever assignments and get placed now days more and more tough assignments and less opportunity. Please note, if you are buying this course just to get a certificate I suggest don't buy it (this course is not for you). This course gives an in-depth knowledge of not just machine learning but computer technology as a whole. If you are ready to put effort then this course can help you reach the moon.

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is looking forward to start a carrier in data science. It covers all the required topics from the basics to state of the art. It gives equal weightage to both theoretical and practical knowledge. The teaching style of Srikanth Sir is amazing.
