Waikato has in total 8 faculties offering a wide range of study options at UG, PG and doctorate level with 19, 33 and 7 qualifications, respectively. Besides, it offers a variety of certificate and diploma courses. Subjects like Environment and Ecology have been placed at #300 rank, while Social Sciences and Public Health have been placed at #357 globally. The University supports international study groups to facilitate better learning and also trains teachers to teach English to Non-English speakers.
There are 2 campuses - the Hamilton Campus and Tauranga Campus. Both campuses are fully equipped with essential facilities such as on-campus accommodation, post office, Bank, medical center, stationery, and book store.
Waikato has 3 residence halls with both fully catered and self-catered options. Additionally, students are offered flat-based accommodation at ‘Orchard Park’, which is again fully self-catered. Students seeking off-campus accommodation may opt for renting/homestay/flat and can also reach out to University officials, in case they require assistance. The scholarship amount is 22,000 NZD. Applications are accepted 3 times in a year.
High Achievement Scholarship
This scholarship offers 15% off on the total international tuition fee of 2nd year.
University of Waikato International Alumni Masters Scholarship - China
Only Chinese alumni are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Total 10 scholarships are awarded every year to first 10 students enrolling in full-time PG programme and can avail 20% waiver on their 1st-year tuition fee.
Furthermore, students may seek scholarships from external sources, such as New Zealand Scholarships, New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships, etc.
