Sunway University from Malaysia was the biggest climber. It rose over 120 places in the QS 2026 cycle. That marked the largest single-edition rise in 2026.
What Indicators Drive a QS Ranking?
QS uses 5 lenses to score every ranked institution. Each lens groups one or more indicators with fixed weights. The Research and Discovery lens carries 50% of the score.
Academic Reputation alone weights 30% of the final score. Citations per faculty contribute another 20% from research output. Employer Reputation adds 15%, capturing graduate hiring perceptions globally.
