All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has invited application for admission to MBA and PGDM courses in innovation, entrepreneurship and venture development (IEV).
As per AICTE, a total of 15 higher education institutes across the country will offer this course. For admissions, candidates will be required to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2020 exam.
The selection for the programme will be done on the basis of CET-IE Entrance examination. Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria will be eligible for admission into the MBA/PGDM programme.
As per a notice by AICTE, the new programme is the initiative of the National Innovation and Startup Policy of MHRD’s Innovation Cell and AICTE.
The course is launched “to make Indian higher education system to produce new generation entrepreneurs capable of building innovative and simultaneously earning a master’s degree.”
CET-IE 2020 Exam Duration & Pattern
CET-IE exam will be an online exam of 90 minutes and the preparation time for the same will be 30 minutes. The tentative time for CET-IE will be 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
For the entrance examination, a total of 150 objective-type questions related to innovation, entrepreneurship, IPR and startup will be asked.
The syllabus for the entrance exam includes subjects like quantitative aptitude, awareness of the business, logical reasoning, reading comprehension, and psychometric assessment
Selection Process and Exam Dates
The selection for the MBA and PGDM courses in innovation, entrepreneurship and venture development will be based on the CET-IE entrance examination which will be conducted on September 5, 2020.
The result of CET-IE examination is expected to be announced by September 10, 2020, and interview and final admission list is expected by October 15, 2020.
The admit card for the entrance examination will be released on August 31, 2020. Candidates who are interested in the programme may register for the examination by August 28, 2020.
In order to familiarize with the examination, the body will also be conducted official mocks on
September 1 and 2.
Weightage and Application Fee
Students must note that the 10 per cent weightage will be given to the letter of recommendation, 10 per cent to the previous experience, 40 per cent to the test and 40 per cent to the interview round. No application will be accepted without the application fee. Students need to deposit an application fee of Rs 500. For female candidates, PwD, SC, ST, EBC candidates the fee is Rs 250.
