AKTU Plans to Promote Final Year Students Without Exams, Sends Proposal to UP Government.

Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow is planning to promote final-year engineering students without exams for which the university has sent a proposal to the UP Government.

If the state government approves the proposal then Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical Universitywill have to promote two lakh, final-year engineering students, without exams.

In addition to the proposal, the AKTU administration has sent the formula for promoting students to the state government. 

The Vice-Chancellor has said that the university is hopeful that the state government will soon come up with something for this matter.

As per sources, The state government may take a major decision on university exams today.

There are around 2.2 lakh final year students enrolled in nearly 750 affiliated colleges of the university.

In this regard, officials have said that for a university of this size, conducting exams on such a large scale will be difficult as the risk of spreading coronavirus is also high.

Earlier, the varsity used to conduct its semester examinations by the end of May and used to declare results by June.

Furthermore, the varsity has suggested evaluating students on the basis of internal assessments and past performance.

As per the proposal by the varsity, 50% marks will be based on internal assessments and 50% on the marks scored in the previous semester examination. 

After the evaluation, the varsity will have to publish the result of final year students’ latest by August 15 as many get placed before the examination and have to join their respective organizations from September.
