About AKTU MBA
AKTU is Uttar Pradesh's state technical university, and its MBA is a two-year, full-time course with ten specialisations on its course list. You get a seat through CUET PG and UPTAC counselling, and AKTU teaches the degree on two of its own campuses in Lucknow: IET Lucknow and the Faculty of Management. At IET Lucknow the full fee without hostel is INR 1.50 Lakhs, the same for every specialisation. In round 1 of 2025 the General seat closed at 2,361 at IET Lucknow and 7,259 at the Faculty of Management. IET Lucknow's two-year PG batch of 2024 had a median pay of INR 6.15 LPA, and 70% of it was placed.

AKTU MBA Fees
The total with hostel and mess is INR 2.71 Lakhs and the total without hostel is INR 1.50 Lakhs. The tuition fee is INR 1.20 Lakhs of that, paid INR 60,000 a year. You pay the same fee in every specialisation. The caution money comes back when you leave, and hostel is only for MBA girls.

AKTU MBA Admission Dates
The next CUET PG exam is expected in Mar 2027 and UPTAC counselling in Jul 2027. Classes are expected to start in Sep 2027. NTA holds the exam and UPTAC gives out the seats, so watch both sites from January.

AKTU MBA Eligibility
You need 50% marks in a three-year bachelor's degree, or 45% if you are SC or ST. Any subject works. You also need a CUET PG score, because UPTAC ranks every MBA applicant on it.

You write CUET PG, register for UPTAC counselling, fill your college list and report with your fee. UPTAC gives the seat by your rank. You pick your specialisation later, at the start of semester 3.

AKTU MBA Branches and Seats
All ten specialisations cost INR 1.50 Lakhs at IET Lucknow, and IET Lucknow has 60 MBA seats. UPTAC gives you an MBA seat, not a specialisation. Six of these are areas you pick in semester 3, while Business Analytics and Logistics are separate AKTU programmes. Every name below opens its own course page.

The General seat closed at 2,361 at IET Lucknow and 7,259 at the Faculty of Management in round 1 of 2025. The OBC seat closed at 4,302 and 18,109. These are UPTAC ranks for Home State seats, and the close is the same for every specialisation.

AKTU MBA Scholarships
A TFW seat takes INR 1.20 Lakhs of tuition off, and the UP post-matric scholarship can pay your whole INR 1.50 Lakhs fee. The state scheme needs family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs for SC and ST, and INR 2 Lakhs for the rest.

Same fee and same UPTAC seat as every specialisation. You pick it at the start of semester 3.
Pick it if:
You want bank, broking or fund jobs: the IET Lucknow finance papers are investment analysis with portfolio management and financial markets, the work banks and broking firms hire for.
You are happy to pair it with a second area: AKTU's scheme gives every student two specialisations, so Finance sits beside Marketing or HR on your degree.
Skip it if:
You find accounts and numbers hard: the semester 3 finance papers build on the accounting and statistics you study in year 1.
You want Finance alone on your degree: the AKTU scheme asks for two specialisations, so you still study a second area in year 2.
Master of Business Administration [MBA] (Human Resource Management) (HR)
Same fee and same UPTAC seat as every specialisation. You pick it at the start of semester 3.
Pick it if:
You want people and hiring roles: the IET Lucknow HR papers are talent acquisition and employee relations with labour laws, the base for recruiter and HR executive jobs.
You like law as much as people: one of the two HR papers in semester 3 is on labour laws, so you read the Acts, not only cases.
Skip it if:
You want proof that HR pays more: AKTU and IET Lucknow publish no pay figure by specialisation, so nothing on record shows one area paying more.
You dislike reading law: Employee Relations and Labour Laws is one of only two HR papers in the IET Lucknow semester 3 timetable.

You find a college that offers it: the separate AKTU programme closest to it is MBA Agribusiness Management, listed in UPTAC in 2025.
Skip it if:
You are counting on an AKTU campus for it: the 2025 UPTAC list shows no rural MBA seat at IET Lucknow or the Faculty of Management.
You want a city corporate job: the work in this area sits in villages and small towns, not in Lucknow offices.

If your UPTAC rank clears an AKTU campus in round 1, take the seat; the specialisation comes later. If you want Business Analytics or Logistics, list those as separate programmes, because you cannot move into them in semester 3.
