Assam NEET UG Stray Round Counselling 2026 Registration Begins; Check Direct Link to Apply

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has opened the registration link for the stray round of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 counselling for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses. The official notice went live on October 17, 2026 on the DME Assam portal at dme.assam.gov.in.

Candidates who did not secure a seat in the earlier rounds can now register. The stray round is the final round of the state counselling cycle. It aims to fill the seats that remain vacant after the mop-up round.

Assam has six government medical colleges and one government dental college under the state counselling pool. Together, these institutes offer around 1100 MBBS seats and 50 BDS seats. The stray round will fill only the seats still vacant after prior rounds.

How to Register for the Assam Stray Round Counselling 2026?

Candidates must follow the steps given on the DME Assam portal. The registration process is fully online.

1. Visit the official DME Assam website at dme.assam.gov.in.
2. Click on the stray round registration link published on October 17, 2026.
3. Enter your NEET UG 2026 roll number and required personal details.
4. Fill the choice preferences for colleges and courses.
5. Pay the counselling fee as prescribed in the official notice.
6. Lock your choices and download the confirmation page.

Who Is Eligible to Participate?

The stray round is open to candidates who meet the DME Assam eligibility rules for the 2026 session. Candidates must have qualified NEET UG 2026. They must also hold valid domicile and category documents as per state norms.

Candidates who have already joined a college under earlier Assam rounds may face resignation rules. Students should read the stray round notice carefully before registering. The seat, once allotted in the stray round, is typically binding.
