Assam Oil College (AOC) Starts Admissions For Nursing Programs; Check Details Here

Indian Oil Corporation Limited subsidiary, Assam Oil has started the admission process for BSc (Nursing) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). Applicants who apply can secure their admissions at Assam Oil College/School of Nursing, Digboi. 

As per the official reports, only unmarried female applicants who meet the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the prospectus can apply for the programmes. The applicants will need to download the application form and send it by December 12.

The candidates will need to enclose all the copies of documents as mentioned with the application form. The duration of the B.Sc programme is 4 years while that of the GNM course is 3 years. Each course has 30 seats for which the applicants can apply.

While the BSc course is a dedicated undergraduate course, GNM is a 3-year diploma. Both the courses train the applicants in the ways of nursing and caring for the patient. While BSc Nursing is valued more than GNM, both have plenty of job opportunities in the medical field.

AOC Admission 2020: Eligibility Criteria 

Before applying, the candidate should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria of the course that they are applying to. Both the GNM and BSc courses have different eligibility criteria. Interested candidates can find them below.

GNM: Candidates who are applying for GNM should have a secured a minimum of 40% in their class 12 board exam in either Science or Arts with English and Mathematics, Economics, History, Political Science, Biotechnology, Geography, Accountancy, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Home Science, or Business Studies. 

B.Sc Nursing: Applicants applying for BSc nursing should have completed their class 12 from a recognized board in science with English. Additionally, they should have secured at least a 50% score in their board exams.

There will be a provision for 5% score relaxation in the case of applicants from the SC/ST and PwD category.

AOC Admission 2020: Selection Process

Applicants will be selected for the course based on the result of an online exam. To qualify for admission, the candidate should secure at least a 40% score in the exam. Applicants belonging to SC/ST or PwD category will be given an additional 5% relaxation in scores. 

Applicants who will be selected will get a stipend, free hotel, uniform, and medical attention.
