On Saturday, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Education Minister of Assam announced that offline classes for Class 12 are scheduled to begin from 15th September 2020. The same date also applies to final year students of UG Courses.
The reopening of school and college classes is being commenced on an experimental basis. He also announced during a press conference that this decision is only to be in effect informally, and is subject to cancellation.

The school authorities have been asked to divide students among small groups to make the gathering as small as possible. Having small groups of students will also make sure that proper attention is given to each student.
The classes are to go on till 30th September 2020. However, they may be discontinued sooner in case any students or faculty members tested positive for COVID-19.

Schools have also been advised to follow all necessary precautionary practices. Proper sanitation must be maintained in schools and colleges while the classes are being conducted.
