SPPU to conduct final year examinations in Blended Mode for over 2 Lac students

Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Pune has announced that it is preparing to conduct final year examinations across colleges for over 2,00,000 students. 

Final year examinations of SPPU will be conducted across 700+ colleges affiliated with it, along with more than 230 recognized institutes and 70+ institutes governed by the university.  

The final year examinations are scheduled to be in a mixed-mode. While students from some courses will be able to appear for the exams online, some other courses will hold the exams in offline mode.

As for practical assessments, the students will not be required to physically visit the laboratories. According to N S Umrani, the pro-vice chancellor SPPU, the assessment will take place through an alternative method consisting of assignment submissions as well as conducting seminars or presentations. 

Students from professional UG and PG courses will be evaluated on the basis of the syllabus covered up to March 13, 2020. This means that the syllabus for the exams is about 60% of the entire syllabus for the professional courses.

 For B.A, B.Sc and other conventional courses, students will have to prepare 100% of the syllabus, since it has already been covered fully. Exams for the same had also already begun prior to the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19. 

It has also been announced that final year students who have backlogs will have to prepare with the complete syllabus
