Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has released the Postgraduate (PG) Admission 2026 Mop-Up Round schedule. The notification is available on the official website at admission.bhu.ac.in. This round targets candidates who registered for PG admissions but hold no seat.
Vacant seats will be declared on August 4 at 6 PM. Physical reporting at the respective department is mandatory on August 7 2026. The merit list will be released on August 10 at 2 PM. Seat allotment and fee links open on August 12 at 6 PM.

Who Is Eligible for the BHU PG Mop-Up Round 2026?
The mop-up round is open to a specific set of PG applicants only. As per the official BHU notification, eligible candidates fall into these categories:
- Registered for BHU PG Admissions 2026-27 but hold no admission seat
- Previously cancelled or withdrew their allotted seat
- Did not complete fee payment after regular or spot round allotment
- Remained waitlisted in earlier rounds
What Is the Security Deposit Requirement?
Candidates must submit a security deposit of Rs 2000. The payment must be made via Demand Draft. It should favour The Registrar Banaras Hindu University payable at Varanasi.
The deposit is refundable if the seat is allotted and fees paid. It is also refunded if no seat is awarded. The amount is forfeited if fees remain unpaid after allotment.
How to Apply for the BHU PG Mop-Up Round 2026?
No online registration is required for this round. Candidates must apply using the mop-up application form. They should report physically at their respective department or centre.
Reporting is scheduled on August 7 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Complete documentation must be carried during the physical visit. Applicants can apply for only one program they registered for earlier. Multiple applications may lead to cancellation of the candidature.
The mop-up round is BHU's final chance to fill vacant PG seats. Merit is decided independently from earlier rounds. Only physically present candidates with complete documents will be considered.
