CENTAC Round 2 Preference Edit Window Open; Check Last Date to Update Choices

The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has reopened the preference edit window. The window applies to Round 2 Under Graduate (UG) Non-NEET counselling. CENTAC is the Government of Puducherry admission body for UG streams. It issued the notice on September 2, 2026. Candidates can edit choices at centacpuducherry.in till September 3, 2026.

The reopened window gives students a short chance to revise their preferences. Any changes must be submitted before the deadline expires. No edits will be allowed after the window closes.

Round 2 initial choice filling had closed on August 24, 2026. Many candidates could not finalise their preferences before that cutoff. CENTAC has now reopened the window based on candidate requests. The facility is time-bound and unlikely to be extended.

What Does the Preference Edit Window Allow?

The reopened window lets candidates change their existing choice list. Students may add new courses that they had missed earlier. They can also delete choices they no longer wish to pursue. Reordering of preferences is also permitted during this window. The updated order will decide the sequence of allotment consideration. All edits become final once the deadline lapses.

Who Can Edit Course Preferences?

Only registered CENTAC 2026 UG Non-NEET candidates can access the window. These are students who qualified for Round 2 based on merit. Candidates must use their CENTAC login credentials to make updates. Fresh registration is not open at this stage of counselling.

Candidates should keep their login details ready before opening the portal. Loss of credentials may delay the update process. The CENTAC helpdesk can be reached for password recovery.

How to Update Course Preferences?

Candidates who wish to change their choices must follow a few steps. The process is fully online through the CENTAC candidate portal.

1. Visit the official CENTAC portal at centacpuducherry.in.
2. Log in using your CENTAC application number and password.
3. Open the Round 2 course preference section from the dashboard.
4. Add, remove, or reorder your course choices as needed.
5. Save and confirm the updated preferences before the deadline.

Every step should be completed on a stable internet connection. Candidates should double-check the final list before submitting.

What Happens After September 3?

CENTAC will lock all candidate preferences after the deadline. The board will then process Round 2 seat allotment. Allotment is based on merit rank, category, and updated preferences. Results will be published on the same official portal. Selected candidates will need to report as per the allotment schedule.

Students not allotted in Round 2 may wait for later rounds. Leftover seats may be offered in future spot rounds.
