What is CENTAC 2027?

CENTAC stands for Centralised Admission Committee. It is the official admission body of the Government of Puducherry, operating under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education. CENTAC 2027 manages the entire centralised online admission process for government and private colleges in the Union Territory of Puducherry, covering four geographically separate regions — Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam.

CENTAC 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for MBBS and BDS

MBBS and BDS admissions through CENTAC 2027 are based entirely on NEET UG 2027 scores. You must meet all of the following conditions:

• General / OC category: Minimum 50% marks in PCB aggregate

Nativity and Domicile Requirement

CENTAC 2027 admissions offer two quota types: local (UT Puducherry) quota for residents and outside Puducherry (OP) quota open to candidates from any state. To claim local quota seats, you must meet at least one of these conditions:

• You or your parents have resided continuously in the UT of Puducherry for at least 5 years immediately before the application date
• You have studied in a recognized school or college within the UT of Puducherry for at least 5 consecutive years before your qualifying exam

How to Apply for CENTAC 2027

1. New Registration: Visit the official CENTAC portal and click the relevant course link (Engineering, NEET-based, etc.). Click "New Registration" and create an account using your mobile number and email ID. An OTP is sent for verification.
2. Email and Mobile Activation: Activate your account by clicking the link sent to your registered email. Your account becomes active only after this step — you cannot proceed without it. Save your application number and password.
3. Fill the Application Form: Log in and fill in all personal, academic, and course-related details carefully. Select your category (UT Puducherry / Outside Puducherry), caste/community, and the programmes you wish to apply for. Enter your qualifying exam details — NEET UG 2027 roll number and score for medical courses, or JEE Main 2027 details for engineering.

CENTAC 2027 Application Fee

The official CENTAC 2027 application fee will be announced in the 2027 information brochure. Based on the 2026 cycle, the expected fee structure is as follows:

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, including if you withdraw from the admission process after payment. Payment is accepted online only through debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI.

In addition to the registration fee, candidates who receive and accept a seat allotment must pay a security deposit online within the deadline shown in their allotment letter. This deposit is separate from the application fee and is adjusted against the first-year tuition. Failure to pay the security deposit on time results in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat.

CENTAC 2027 Reservation and Category Details

CENTAC 2027 follows the reservation policy of the Government of Puducherry. The UT has its own category structure that is different from central government OBC/SC/ST categories. Understanding your category and quota is important because your actual counselling rank is determined from the category-specific merit list, not the overall list.

Horizontal Reservations and Special Quotas

• UT Puducherry Quota (85%): State quota seats reserved for UT residents holding a valid Residential/Nativity Certificate from the Puducherry Revenue Department. For MBBS and BDS, the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) is sent to MCC for national-level allotment.
